There is only one bug I want them to fix, make spies able to hold a shotgun as a disguise weapon. I send them an email every 3 months, but no luck. I know it's an insignificant issue, but it really-really bothers me for some dumb reason.
And maybe make it so they cannot have missing body parts.
So far I heard so many conflicting reports considering this god damn private video ranging from "It was always there, private!" to "It's the new short you absolute idiot" I honestly dont know to think anymore.
As for the emails, I'm relatively sure they just changed their mind or forgot about it since they are in Crunch Time.
Just give us the update and release us from this eternal pain

Now that you said that, I recall seeing that private video on that playlist back when Pyromania was about to be released and back then everyone thought it was MTP.
I think the video is just Meet the Spy (the leaked version), and the public MTS is the post-leak version.
The MTS that was released by Valve has a "Leaked Video" in the panel at the beginning of the video while the leaked one didn't. Which kinda explains having MTS reuploaded and the previous version being made private.
It would be weird if this was the new short, since the latest TF video uploaded to valve's channel was Meet the Spy, everything TF related since Meet the Medic was uploaded to the TF channel.
Does he have to? He has a right to resent Valve for abandoning traditional game development. He enjoys their IPs, but he isn't particularly captivated by an experimental technology with an untested market.
Valve is partially responsible for cultivating this sentiment, since they're leaving large quantities of otherwise dedicated fans in the dust.
I have some issues with this. I've seen numerous people say "Valve doesn't make games anymore" or "Valve doesn't do anything but count money", and when you point out that they work on VR and VR games, they usually say "I don't care about THOSE games".
At what point did games stop being games just because they're for VR? I've tried Vive and I would be lying if I said that it was garbage.
Considering how Valve is structured, I cannot blame them at all for wanting to move into that direction, as much as I like their older games and want Valve to support them.
At the end of the day, yes, he has the right to resent Valve for abandoning traditional game development, but he shouldn't blindly hate VR because of it. VR isn't what made Valve decide to move on. Lack of interest is. That, of course, is also open for criticism.
False alarm then, sadly.
Here's a question to speculate on: What focus will the SFM/The Update in general have?
Personally I believe we'll see a Jungle SFM and general jungle focus. I can imagine that itll be like Gun Mettle, which by itself doesn't say "this is engineer vs spy" but has more of a stench all over it.
Where did that info that they're working on an animated short come from to begin with? Was there ever any evidence tying it to this update to begin with?

Tyler's Interview with DRiller.
That new short is obviously a 4K, SFM2 remaster of the best "Meet the" short:

From the VNN interviews
This is patently untrue. Motion sickness issues with VR have more to do with the wetware (the person experiencing it) and the game/software. A quick google search will turn up buckets of results of people getting sick from the Vive. It may be that the Vive induces nausea in its users at a much lower rate than the Rift or other such devices, but it is certainly not without motion sickness problems. A friend of mine canceled his Vive order for that very reason.
I get severely sick whenever I'm in the virtual world. Not sure if it's my brothers current setup or not, but I can't last over 10 minutes without starting to feel drained and sick. I can't do VR in general, and I wish I could experience it without sickness.

I had kind of the same problem when I went to a Tech Summit and tried HTC Vive's "The Lab". Brilliant game, but I couldn't see anything through my right eye and felt sort of, not isolated but as if outside simply did not exist and it took a long time for me to come to grips with reality after. This included stumbling down the high street looking for a pharmacy for some painkillers.
I have a android VR at the moment (namely some bojdkennjoven alcatel shit) , which I use to watch youtube mainly, which isn't so bad for some reason.
Might just be first experiences. Our brain's mentality is a bit conservative. It can't stand new technology being used upon it, such as VR. The brain cannot simply understand or coincide virtual and actual reality just by putting on a headset.
VR is a bit like learning how to walk. You sometimes fall over, get pain, but in the end you start "walking" and your brain then starts to comprehend what walking is.
some more crap before I stop posting and reading this ever increasing depressed thread
To be honest, another SFM from the team is a bit too optimistic. I mean look how much they sunk into expiration date. Imo nothing could topple ED if they're going to release the update around August (even then I high doubt it)
Unless they've been working on it from day one after the MyM thing ended :vs:
Meet the Pyro part 2: nothing but phlog
Let's ignore facts for the sake of blind pessimism
There's this new site dedicated to that, now.
Its called shitpost.tf , and you'll see a lot of familiar content there.

I can go to Spud if I want that level of nonsense... =/
Even more so now since we're in the middle of summer.
you all know the playlist with the private video was last updated on april 6th, 2016 right? it's a dead end regarding anything new.
I'm going to be a bore here and just say that the private video is just Meet the Spy, really.

I'll keep you posted as I track down the culprit. Rest assured, though: Until I find the person responsible, I vow that Valve will stop work on all projects.
looks as if they never found the culprit
Valve didn't stop work on all projects so more like it was Robin himself and he got "kicked" out of the team since hes not in it anymore.
So Eurogamer posted an interesting article about videogame voice acting and it mentions the voice actors strike that's affecting TF2. According to the article:
These don't sound like unrealistic demands, but so far, the companies targeted by this strike haven't begun to negotiate with the union, so clearly there's an issue there.
We don't know if it's affecting TF2.
We don't know if it's affecting TF2.
TF2 is on the struck games PDF on the voice actor's guild website.
I emailed the contact person on the website around a month ago and she told me the list was up to date and would be updated if any deals were made.
My guess is Valve's contract with Voiceworks Production doesn't allow them to bypass Voiceworks and hire the voice actors directly but I can't say that for sure.
Edit: The non strike list includes the DOTA 2 Year Beast update so it seems like individual parts of the game aren't part of the strike if they entered production before Feb 17, 2015. I think Valve time may work out in our favor for once.
I'm pretty sure they recorded their lines in advance.
Man it would really suck if the Update only had voicelines for a couple of classes.

I'm not sure how this works exactly, sigafoo mentioned that he saw nate recording lines at valve when he visited
We have a bunch of pyroland servers alive right now:

I have looked up their ips on gametracker, no data that means they appeared recently http://www.gametracker.com/server_info/155.133.238.40:27041/

It did, but a huge batch of new maintance servers are usually a sign of a big Update coming. We had a bunch of those Pyroland servers before MyM aswell.

Ah you mean like the servers are downloading the new "configuration" for an update ?

I think so. Also, it means, that I need to launch optimeter (optimism + meter) on MAXIMUM!
Update's coming soon, boys! Woooo hooo!
There were some weird shit happening in the past few hours. However, the Pyroland servers were already active for a few weeks.
Also, take a look at this: https://www.reddit.com/r/tf2/comments/6ks9ys/some_things_to_notice_about_the_servers_being_down/

Oh I didn't know we had a post about them already, tbh I did a quick "ctrl + f" "pyroland" before posting anything I should've pay more attention, well the fact that we have "World 11" in server name is weird though, as they say in that reddit thread.
They are supposed to have a name similar to these ones: http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/357275885699806910/72D753D6D61B0D4E7D01F13B081401D89D8D3EF3/
