Valve has always referred to the pyro update as the "pyro pack." It seems like they view it as a pack of content, not as the main... point of the update.

The VPK servers are just part of a massive idlebot network. It has nothing to do with Valve.

Personally, I hope the update comes on Thurs or Fri, because if earlier my server will be unable to function for an event my community wants to have.

Well I've started having those bizarre update page dreams. Not sure if that shows I'm REALLY antsy for this update to drop, but what I saw in my head felt way too good to be true. It was marked as Day One, for starters, with what seemed to be two more days unreleased. Pyro and Spy were at the top of Day One with two new cosmetic sets making eachother look more like the opposite - Spy in a cardboard gasmask and propane tank, Pyro wearing a painted on balaclava over the gasmask and a slightly burned suit and tie. Besides that, there was a page-long balance change list that was just the words "WAKE UP UPDATES OUT" on a loop. I suppose a man really CAN dream.

It's hard to explain, but after 1 year without a major update, I kinda forgot what that feeling is like... does that make sense? Either way, i'm beyond hyped to see how they surprise us with this.

Do we have any confirmation on when the comic is meant to come out? Did anyone say it was (probably) going to come out with the Pyro update or is that just speculation?

Considering that this update is getting a 5 minute SFM short I doubt we'll get a comic but you never know.

speculation: the update has taken a year because the TF team had to massively overhaul the hitbox registration to fix the pyro's hitboxes or the more likely option, theyve spent a whole year with their hair on fire trying to figure out where the root of the problem even lies and they only just figured it out in crunch time

A large factor a lot seem to ignore is the new Server Browser that could do wonders for community servers.

If they do work in crunch time then there is the danger of the team rushing some aspects of the update,even if they delegated 2 updates and had an entire year to work on it we still dont know at what pace they were working at.

After reading too much talk about the update, I had a dream last night it came out. Hopefully the dream comes true.
