The Valve maintenance servers seem to exist for a while now, unlike everybody suggests:

Most were aware that the Servers were always there, however a new batch of them came up recently, no?
Other than that, there is generally Casual servers acting up and odd maintance people are confused about, which is why everyone is hyped.

Normal maintenance servers we're always there indeed. But this "special" batch, which is special because they have World 11 in their name has been there since Thursday 18-05-2017, and not since this weekend. And no, it didn't became more this weekend.

Thanks for telling us.
(This wont stop my almost factual expectation of it dropping this week, I already changed my sleepcycle)

So... about these servers having high ping recently like some people claimed, is there any reason behind the claims or do they just have a bad connection to the servers? Also, do we know the actual location of those servers?
The servers are located in pyroland

Probably just a bad connection. I can ping the servers with ~100ms from the EU. Valve has their own network to manage loads etc, but the entry point for all these servers is Johannesburg (South Africa). Example IP is 155.133.238.63 (which resolves to Washington or Poland depending on who you ask), but if you do a traceroute, you see all the traffic goes through 105.22.42.58 (Which is SEACOM, an ISP provider for companies, in Johannesburg). The name of the server will also tell you: jnb-2 means the Johannesburg airport.
We're talking about dreams and using them as speculation.
Valve, can't you see what you've done to us.
There will be a blog post today or tomorrow. I really can't see it going much longer unless because it's the 4th. But valve time works in awkward ways.
It's more likely they took this weekend off, till Tuesday, and plan to release the update Wednesday or Thursday.

Valve is located in Bellevue Washington, I'd assume they're located there.

Since when are there TF2 servers in South Africa?
(are there big jungles in SA? Huuuuge stretch I know)

there are TF2 servers everywhere, probably more than valve has too.

I know Dota 2 and CS:GO had them for a pretty long time. There were even rumors of Valve running a Major Dota championship there.
Edit: Seems like South African Valve Servers are not a thing in TF2 yet.

TF2 used to have gameservers in Johannesburg, but those were deleted during MyM I believe. Maybe they deployed them in SA because those servers only had low loads (to test it out or something).
maybe its like the isaac arg
someone has to fly over to SA, go to where the servers are located and dig up a figure of the pyro
(Also another tiny bit that supports the theory that World 11 = Payload Map 11, it's called HAMMER WORLD editor, not HAMMER MAP editor.)

Cactus Canyon confirmed?

it's a red herring my man
Cactus Canyon confirmed?
maybe, the "base" is already done so is faster for the team to take it an modify it rather than making an entire new one
https://www.reddit.com/r/tf2/comments/6kzmr2/clearing_things_up_around_the_discovered_servers/
according to this the Valve maintenance server doesn't mean shit.
what are the odds of the update being today monday?
Cactus Canyon confirmed?
Thats actually not a bad idea,
And with the TF team stating this will be a BIG Update this could be plosable
-snip-
I wouldn't be be surprised if this jungle map ends up being cactus canyon after a a thorough re-artpass and re-balance

I was thinking the same, but I am curious to see what eventually comes of rd_Asteroid.
I wonder if we'll get a surprise Arena map like with the Invasion update, Arena is very underrated

Baseless speculation spreads and sadly sours the subsequent update when it gets taken as gospel.
Valve, and with ARGs in general, try to be more obvious that they're hiding something. The Pyromania ARG started with nonsensical items dropping, the MVM ARG started with a hidden image appearing on the TF2 blog signposted with a bloodstain.
Meanwhile with this we have no possible link, no step to take... and it's been days since, and nothing more has shown up.

It was a mediocre attempt at humour.
I know this has been said already but... I really just want the Update already. Days feel so long now.
I do think the "World 11" addition means something, if only because we didn't see that in previous Valve Pyroland servers.

Maybe these pyroland servers are a precursor to adding matchmaking servers in South Africa.

Unless Valve adds Arena to casual matchmaking I would guess the chance is 0%, I can't see them adding maps that they don't run in casual.
