You just need heroin
I can confirm this is correct
That's what happens when you get banned. You... can't post.
Well I feel dumb now.
this is probably a repeat of last year when reddit came in and started shitposting like mad, I hope that isn't it though
it'd be cool though if the blog post was today, and the updated ended up revolving around fireworks or something
I think at this point "another MyM" would mean:
The removal of the server browser and by extension all community servers.
The removal of item trading except via the Steam Community Market.
SCM fees now increased to 25% of sale price.
The removal of CTF Doublecross and CTF Landfall.
Overwatch style HUD now default on all TF2 installs.
Custom HUDs no longer enabled via sv_pure.
Instead of being banned, users who trigger VAC in TF2 now get a free pass to Valve's competitive mode. No phone number or $10 required!
Remember when the afterburner item was in that one gun mettle rebalance pic do you think this could be the pyro weapon we will get in this next update?

That topic is a bit sensitive for some workshop creators (ESPECIALLY the ones who made it) so it is quite optimistic to think that anything you see in a blog post image will get in the future. Apparently valve doesn't even remember that they put the after burner in the blog post as a sneak peak/leak (I got this information from one of the people who went on the valve trip)
There were some lines of code leaked before l&w that coded for a flamethrower that gave a speed boost when moving forward and firing, that could make sense as afterburner stats. The same code dump included airstrafing code for the parachute and the minicrits from behind attribute for the backscatter. Afterburner might have been slated for l&w before getting delayed or scrapped altogether.
As fun as that would be, Afterburner with bonus speed while firing would just promote W+M1 playstyle.. Which wouldn't have been appreciated
[t]http://i.imgur.com/FW7oJ6y.jpg[/t] Valve I am holding Archimedes hostage, the dispenser has already been executed. So if you don't want the bird dead give us the pyro/jungle update.
you wouldn't dare
when should we call it for anything being posted tonight?
two hours?
when should we call it for anything being posted tonight?

Now. Jill's probably cooking burgers and laughing at us
I don't think they would promote a major game update on a holiday. That would kinda hurt the word of mouth. I think tomorrow would be more likely, follower by a Thursday release. The update is probably gonna be huge but they can always just do multiple pages in one day like they did for Gun Mettle.
Even if we dont get a big update, an update of some kind would be cool.
Even if it was just like each class gets 1 new weapon adjustment and 3 new cosmetics each. Just a little something for fun.
Honestly I'd take another MyM. Just give me something FUCK
I know you're being facetious but to be honest as much as I bitch about valve taking their time, we've waited so long that I would be irritated to hear they chickened out of taking their time and ending up rushing it anyways. In fact that's actually such a tremendously pathetic thing to do that I actually now expect them to do it. Please don't.
when should we call it for anything being posted tonight?

There is zero chance of happening today. Despite today being the 'perfect day' to announce the update we know Valve doesn't care about perfect days.
I feel like I am the only person that is okay with random crits. Not more than "okay" though.
Edit: In a casual setting, of course.
I'm in a "eh, ok" too. But after a while it gets more frequent and stops feeling random, at least for me.
Random crits makes sense when the game likes to give you a boost for doing things well and almost any feature has an extra modifier to incentive its use, but I would like random crits to have a fixed rate, not a ramp up based in damage dealt.

I have to agree with this. It's OK if the update doesn't release this week. Valve can take all the time to make a great update.
With each passing day I worry more and more for Fluury's mental health. Especially because he barely posted today.
I probably needed that break :vs:
Either way folks, we get three routes to go from here on. I personally rang the no blog post bell for me already.
Route A is that we get a Day 1 tomorrow
Route B is that we get the typical "We actually wanted this to be a 2 day update but something got fucked here have the double update page on a single day" update
Route C is that we get it at a later point
Correct me if I'm wrong but assuming Route C would be correct, this would be the latest Summer Update in the History of TF2 yet, right?

I think the most worrying part of the update is that BASE Jumper change. It already feels under-powered, and is just a fun weapon to goof around with. If they take the fun out of this one too by making it redundant and uncontrollable, I feel it'll get invited to the obsolete club of boring weapons, right next to the once-enjoyable Claidheamh Mòr. Anyone else going to miss it?
Assuming the post doesn't hit later today/tonight, Wednesday is the last reasonable chance of the week in my eyes. An update this huge absolutely won't be covered on a single Thursday, and having it released on Friday is much less likely than other potential weekdays.
Honestly I can wait another week, but any more than that will be over-the-line.

Both likely.

If it's not out on Friday, it will be our latest Summer Update, yes. I'll be incredibly agitated if they manage to effectively shelve both Halloween and our Holiday updates and still manage to not have this update out before the one year mark. I wouldn't put it past Valve, but I'm trying incredibly hard to keep faith in them on this.

it's banned in 6s right now, which is why it was changed. it might actually get some use there now, because this iteration is still powerful. try rocket/pipe airshotting a parachute user that's good at airstrafing and movement in general.
Everytime the fuck up a weapon just cause it's banned in comp, I die a little inside, what about the other 95% of the players

I can understand people from outside the US not being sure about anything today, but I'm not sure why anyone from the US is expecting anything from the TF2 team today. Just enjoy the 4th of July and hope for something tomorrow.

Speaking of that, I do wonder if we'll get a proper Halloween this year.

Yea, BASE Jumper is actually extremely powerful. When I use it in Casual, I become extremely mobile.

This is a result of these balance changes being focused around competitive, specifically community 6v6.
Were weapons like the base jumper and eviction notice particularly heinous offenders when it came to balance in regular TF2, highlander, or just general combat?
Not really. In fact both are commonly outclassed and not equipped as a result by other unlocks. But they constituted a problem in 6s where items are banned to handicap the viability of the non-meta classes and discourage similarly non-meta strategies (base jumper spam) on account of them being determined to not require enough skill, or being unfun to fight against in that specific game mode.
And so they were nerfed.

Speaking as one of the 95%, I get annoyed at overpowered weapons, too. I think the parachute will still work fine for the average user.

You're acting like the problems with the base jumper don't exist in casual as well. It's the same broken weapon.
1. Air-strafing with the parachute deployed is faster than normal which lets you make some pretty ridiculous turns, which is not what the weapon is about (the new Mantreads now fills this role).
2. You can instantly deploy the parachute for an infinite amount of times until you hit the ground to make yourself harder to hit, which is just bullshit. Valve capped mid-air crouching for the same reason.
The new changes solve both of those problems.
