If it does release Friday, keep in mind that they've worked weekends in the past with a major update around the corner and when it releases.

I understand that. I'm not saying they can't release the update on a Friday, but I feel it would be a bit of a hassle for them to do even more work on the weekend if something is broken. They released Scream Fortress 8 on a Friday, but the contracts were bugged for the whole weekend and weren't fixed until the following Tuesday.

Here's a dumb question: Now that there's anime on Steam (though it's been there for quite some time now), do you think at some point there will be anime TF2 promo items? Though probably no as no anime-based video game has promo items.
Crunchyroll may do something with their own stuff... Potentially.

if we dont get anything on thursday, then we can call it off.

In the past the TF Team has released several two day updates on one day by just revealing both "days" at the same time. While this is likely not intentional, it might happen again.

My hopes for today are extremely high though - even though I have prepared a number of bell gifs in case of nothing dropping tonight.

Fluury my man I'd just accept defeat here. I was so hopeful but we've gone too far. I'd cut my losses and just say it's next week if we don't get a post by 4 PST today

can't wait for the pyro update to ship a sakura spirit promo pyro head replacement that is just a generic anime character head and there's like 5 styles for the 5 most cliche anime hairstyles you can possibly get (its okay the hair is paintable)

it won't fall into uselessness even with the change. if a bad player has it, they can dodge shots from anybody that isn't good. if a good player has it, they can dodge shots from basically everybody. it's one of the very few weapons i struggle to play against unless the user is absolutely braindead.

7 hours? I think you're overshooting a bit. Latest I think I've seen anything be posted from the TF Team is 830 EST, which would be 4-5 hours from now.

To be fair, that still makes it too soon to call nothing's happening today.

I'd be legitimately surprised if nothing came today- Monday and Tuesday were mostly wishful thinking on my part, but if this week is the week I have no clue why they wouldn't announce today. A Thursday announce and release is still possible, but I'm personally calling it for the week if it doesn't come today.

in hindsight: the same way we've posted dates for all major updates, it'd be incredibly useful if we posted times for blog posts and figured out what the actual timeframes for their posting is, because at the moment that feels a lot more vague than it should be
