Megatf is quakeworld team fortress, which is the first Team Fortress game. Its a quake mod. TFC came after, and its on the GoldSrc engine from Half Life. As for a good TFC server, drippys still gets regular traffic and has great people on it
yeah I know all that but I just couldn't find any server on both TFC and classic fortress, will try that server and megatf
saw those youtube poops made from the Meet the Team videos, checked the game out, liked it and bought Orange Box
YouTube Poops and generally it's artstyle. Bought the Orange Box for 12,50 EUR at the store in 2009.
[sp]I still miss that Tauntkill cloak exploit when Valve fixed it ;([/sp]
I joined a portal 2 club at my old school with some friends in 6th grade, portal 2 was rly boring for an ADD 6th grader, and the teacher didn't care what we did, so I just played tf2 with some friends
About two years ago I built a pc (having only had consoles before that). Having built it I needed games. I bought a few but funds were tight and so I also tried out the free ones on Steam. I'd played Tf2 on console with Orange Box and so tried it again out of sentimentality.
Instantly loved it and here I am.
Got the orange box in 2010 solely for portal. Then other games on it got my attention, but my pc couldn't run tf2. I watched a ton of videos about tf2, and actually got a new pc in january the next year. TF2 was the first game I played on it, and I didn't ever play anything else again.
Until 2012, where dota took the throne for the biggest time sink game :v: I still come back to TF2 every now and then, generally when a major update is released. I don't think I'll ever dislike this game
The classic age of Scout is Delicious and the Gmod Zombie story series got me into TF2.
Yeah. Came in during the last days of Sniper V spy though, so it wasn't that bad.
saw the announcement trailer. Had to play demo/spy/pyro atleast once
played the beta, it was great fun seeing the kind of teamwork tf2 allowed for
It was a combo of that, Youtube Poops with TF2, and me discovering the Orange Box back in 2008 while shopping at Walmart with my mother.
It was also the day I discovered Steam and PC gaming.
I'm still here, 8 years later.

Forgot to mention, I was here since Goldrush baby. Played it religiously. Played it so much I burned a Graphics card because of it :v:.
I've been with this game through all of it's updates. I kinda phased out last year, but the recent update got be back in! I kinda like how casual matchmaking brought back focus to playing the other maps instead of Dustbowl and 2fort. Though I still sometimes hop on a 24/7 2fort server when I just wanna chill.
Portal on Orange Box (xbox 360), ended up trying TF2 there. Got addicted but wanted more - saw the updates coming to PC (scout update at the time) so I built a PC.
I got it bundled with Garry's mod, didn't really touch it at all for about 4-5 months. Saw my sister's boyfriend playing it one day and tried it for myself.
3,300 hours
I tried it out because it came free with my purchase of Portal 2. Didn't really start playing it much until it went f2p though. In 2 years I played 3.5k hours, then stopped playing for a while, and now I'm playing it again.

this was a really big influence for me and is the reason why i play heavy alot
how can you say no to an instant death finger gun taunt?
My cousin played it when I was over at his house during Halloween. I had been mostly playing handhelds in the DS and PSP. I got into playing it on my computer via the orange box before the Mac update from my memory.

Holy shit, that Medic drop at the beginning was insane.
Could this be the top of the Heavy skill ceiling? Tauntkill Uber drops?
I got into the game pretty early, around the time the Orange Box was released in 2007. Soldier used to be my go-to.
Haven't played the game in years, though.
Got the game back in summer 2012, played solely on training because I was scared of online.
Eventually I found this really cool, active idle/trade server so I played on it. It was using a Halloween map so most of us would build sentries and blast monoculus and the Horsemann to bits while screaming in voicechat.
Server went through some map changes but never for very long, most of us knew the base map and would spend our time either looking for new exploits or using old ones.
That was the last bit of genuine fun I've had in TF2. Server shut down and I've never found a replacement.
Ah, nostalgia
This was in July 2011. I saw the game became F2P and since my PC did not have wireless capabilities I ended up dragging an ethernet cable across my room and plugging my PC in. It doubled as a security system since anyone trying to enter the room would trip over the wire and cause the router to plummet to the ground. This was also a shitty ISP provided router so I was surprised to see it survive so many drops.
It took a day to download and I booted the game up, did the 4 tutorials and started a game against bots. I got my ass whooped but it was the most fun I'd had with any video game in a while. I eventually started to get accustomed to the mechanics and started playing online for real. Got my ass whooped still but I had so many fun experiences. Here's a tip: Don't play soldier or demo with 300 ping.
5 years have gone by, wow.
I started to get into the game after some time in the beginning of 2012 when I took interest into the other valve games before I decided to do some Tf2. It was fun in the early stages, I was super stoked about the best probably for content released on tf2 was when mvm started to surface. Haven't been as excited since that first happened but still loving Team Fortress 2.
i got tf2 after uber update because at the time to have a working source sdk with hammer you had to buy a source game
"hey thats a pretty good game"
i've also played it in 2009 when i pirated orange box to play hl2ep2 but obviously there were no servers and it was outdated af
A friend recommended it to me, We played a round of 2fort and I found an item and I was amazed, Forgot what it was though.
I bought 2 keys for premium 2 months later and unboxed a strange shortstop and traded the other key for a common weapon.
Watched some STAR_ about a year or two ago, started playing it actually around 8 months ago and now I'm on 1.4k hours lmao
Me and my cousin loved the Gmod Idiot Box series and were always interested in that weird Pixar-looking game that was constantly featured. So, some research later, and we discover this huge game of hats and crafting items. I remember the crafting aspect was one of the big influences to get the game because of how big Minecraft was at the time. We both got the Orange Box for Christmas (Xbox 360) and were disappointed that there were no items. Nevertheless, we still played for hours. I think Demo was my favorite class back then.
Fast-forward a couple of months, at about the end of the Uber Update, and my cousin found out about Steam and the PC version of TF2. I didn't start playing until the game went free, but it was definitely a good decision to switch platforms. I clocked about 4K hours or so in the game and met so many people playing it.
I haven't played the game in over 6 months and this latest update has given me some incentive to reinstall it and try it out. Hope it's just as good as I remember.
I was playing battlefield heroes, but EA was gradually running it more and more to the point I couldn't give a shit about it anymore.
I seen that tf2 is still alive. So I decided to give it a try, first torrented it played for about 40 Hours and the decided this is pretty okay game.
Bought it month later in orange box and Dragon Age origins for my mum at Christmas 2009.
I stumbled upon meet the spy and got really interested. Next day I bought a copy of the orange box on 360. Then I got my first laptop, TF2 and Minecraft(late alpha) got me into PC gaming.
Was into Battlefield Heroes when it first came out in beta (early 2009?) and was watching some bfheroes videos on YouTube when a video titled something like TF2 vs Battlefield Heroes popped up in the recommended videos. Gave that a watch and bought a boxed copy about a year later
Played a lot of QuakeWorld Team Fortress and Team Fortress Classic back in the day.
Then I found out they were making a Team Fortress 2. And it was being bundled with Half-Life 2: Episode Two and Portal. So I pre-ordered it as soon as I could. And I couldn't play it for a few months because my computer wasn't powerful enough to run it.
But when I finally could, I played Pyro and could actually kill people and thought holy shit Pyro is good now. Too bad it ended up not being the case, but still.

I was shocked that medic actually did medic things and not just be a better flag runner the scout and have medics just focus on giving everyone aids.
Scout wasn't a completely garbage class, who I considered to be on par with Pyro in regards as the worst two classes in QWTF and TFC.
Pyro was still one of the worst classes in the third installment of the game, wondering why they took the time to really make scout work and just left pyro the same, excrpt now he couldn't hurass snipers with his incineration cannon, which was a fire rocket launcher, think scorch shot except no reloads or crits.
2008: had the Orange Box on Xbox 360 for Portal- ignored TF2 because I legit thought it was a kid's shooter.
2009: Meet the Spy comes out and I get linked to it by a random acquaintance- I realize that it's no kid's game and that it has a lot of charm and wit packed into it. So I tried it, loved it, and learned to stop judging games by their art-style.
When the Soldier/Demo WAR! started I transferred to the PC version and I never looked back.
6 years and over 3,000 total hours- jeez time flies.
Got the Orange Box for Christmas when it came out in 2007 and played it on my dad's computer for a couple hours. All I remember playing is soldier on 2Fort, camping the intel. Good times.
