Set it on making maps. I honestly find making maps more fun than the core game.
Agreed. [editline]28th October 2010[/editline]
Obviously this will be what I'm doing. But how to do that I have no idea, yet.
Gamemode coop edit.
Looks cool OP
Agreed. [editline]28th October 2010[/editline] Gamemode coop edit.
Can you point out which one of these I'm meant to be using to change the gamemode? http://sauerbraten.org/docs/config.html
I got Cube on my iPod the other day but the controls were so ridiculously horrible I couldn't play it.
Can you point out which one of these I'm meant to be using to change the gamemode? http://sauerbraten.org/docs/config.html
http://sauerbraten.org/docs/game.html This one. Command: mode N Set gameplay mode to N for the next game played (next map load). N can be: 0: "ffa" / "default" mode. This is the default normal ffa game, and can also be used as "prewar" while setting up teams / voting for the next game. 1: coop edit mode. This simply enables map editing in multiplayer, otherwise identical to mode 0. 2: a standard teamplay game. will work with any number of teams with any number of players: you are allied with all players whose "team" setting is the same as yours. 3/4: instagib [team] mode. No items will spawn, but everyone will have 100 rifle rounds and 1 health. 5/6: efficiency [team] mode. No items will spawn, but everyone will get all weapons with full ammo, and green armour. 7/8: tactics [team] mode. No items will spawn, but everyone will spawn with only base ammo for 2 random weapons and green armour. 9: capture mode, see capture mode section below. 10: regen capture mode, like capture mode but with no respawn timer, and you regenerate health, armour, and ammo by standing on bases you own. 11: ctf mode. Capture the flag where you must retrieve the enemy flag and return it to your own flag for points. 12: insta ctf mode. Capture the flag as above, but with weapons, health, and items as in instagib mode. 13: protect mode. Touch the enemy flag for points. Protect your own flag by picking it up. 14: insta protect mode. Like protect mode above, but with weapons, health, and items as in instagib mode. 15: hold mode. Hold the flag for a time to score points. 16: insta hold mode. Like hold mode above, but with weapons, health, and items as in instagib mode. 17: efficiency ctf. Capture the flag as above, but with weapons, health, and items as in efficiency mode. 18: efficiency protect. Like protect mode above, but with weapons, health, and items as in efficiency mode. 19: efficiency hold. Like hold mode above, but with weapons, health, and items as in efficiency mode. -1: demo playback mode, see demo recording section below. -2, -3: single player, see single player mode section below. Frag counting is the same for all modes: 1 for a frag, -1 for a suicide or a teamkill. Timelimit for all games is 10 minutes, or 15 minutes for teamplay, and no timelimit for mode 1 (and mode 0 in a local game).
I was able to vote it. Should be able to join using: connect 81.132.113.140 28785 garry (hit the console button)
Forward Ports.
They're forwarded. What's your error if any so I can try to fix them.
They're forwarded. What's your error if any so I can try to fix them.
Attempting To Connect... Attempting To Connect... Attempting To Connect... Attempting To Connect...
Seems to be a problem on your end. Coolity is in fine. [editline]29th October 2010[/editline] If you're joining my server make sure you have this pack: http://filesmelt.com/dl/minecraftsauerbraten.rar (Minecraft textures.) Install by: 1. Create a minecraft folder in your packages folder of the install directory. 2. Extract the contents to the minecraft folder. 3. Add this line: exec packages/minecraft/package.cfg into the file default_map_settings in the data folder above the line:
// for cfgs that don't set shaders... setshader stdworld
Toasting Minecraft pack. See above.
I click the filesmelt link and it says my download is ready. I click the link below and it brings me back to the same page. [editline]28th October 2010[/editline] Nevermind I got it. [editline]28th October 2010[/editline] Still can't connect.
I got no idea why. Sorry dude.
Dling now, will join server if possible.
Reinstalling the game. [editline]28th October 2010[/editline] :sigh: Didn't work.
I'm getting the same "Attempting to connect..." thing, are you sure the details for the server are right?
If you want to try getting on my server: /connect 98.145.91.209 in console. [editline]28th October 2010[/editline] Might you be able to restart the server and see if that works?
I remember this game, it was so fucking awesome. A few FPers and me joined together and tried to make a Facepunch city. It was so fun.
Is your server down PieClock? I can't join it. If anyone wants to play with the editor in singleplayer, choose "loadmap" from the main menu, pick a random map, push E to enter edit mode and then type "/newmap <size>" You'll spawn in an empty. Ten is a decent size, fifteen is massive so I don't know how big the map is when you go above that. If we're going to be doing co-op edit, 15 is good. [img_thumb]http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/2292/sauer20101029023237.png[/img_thumb] I'm not sure if it's disabled by default now or if I turned it off before, but the 3D menu is pretty useful when you're editing. You can keep the edit menu up while you're building instead of having to open it over and over. [img_thumb]http://img828.imageshack.us/img828/460/sauer20101029025302.png[/img_thumb] You can see how massive a size 15 map is in this one. The editing menu shows most of the important controls, there's a lot that isn't listed though. The editor can get pretty complex and you can make some awesome stuff if you know how to use it. I only know the basics so here's a few controls to get you guys started: E = edit mode left click = selection right click = move selection C and V = copy and paste mousehweel = raise and lower G + mousewheel = change brush size Q + mousewheel = raise and lower cube angles (select one or more cubes, look at it's corner) Y + mousewheel = scroll through textures, or push F2 for the texture browser F + mousewheel = lower or raise a cube's surface (for making thin blocks or something) 0 = textures apply to all surfaces of selected cubes If you have lighting in your map, you can type /calclight instead of having to go into the lighting menu to render it. You can add lights in the ents tab in the editing menu.
Would be awesome if somebody could get a 24/7 server up for us running the Minecraft texture pack.
Does anyone know what's the point of numpad? I'm not sure it's in this version but it makes a blue tint in various shapes which you can expand or decrease. But it never seems to do anything.
Whoa, how did you get a 3d menu? Also I made the Minecraft pack, to fix glass put Alpha from materials.
Whoa, how did you get a 3d menu? Also I made the Minecraft pack, to fix glass put Alpha from materials.
Somewhere in options, uncheck 2D menu
Woops. I should have posted I had the server shut down. I can put it up again if anyone is interested. [editline]29th October 2010[/editline] Actually I feel like playing, may aswell put it up regardless if anyone joins or not. Should be the same command to join: connect 81.132.113.140 28785 garry [editline]29th October 2010[/editline] Nevermind won't be up for a while my internet has got fucked
Bwaaa everyone is off in the Minecraft thread. I want to play obscure sandbox german games goddamnit!
Aw, it's a game? I wanted to post my super-secret family receipt, too bad for you now
I like how the bots are learning from you. If you make yourself a place up in the sky, but build a stairway, the bots won't get you, but if you use this stairway at least once, the bots know how to go up.

Now I know my bunker isn't safe.
Yeah they are learning from your path, I think there is also a console command which allows you to see the path you make them. (Which they follow quite strictly). "showwaypoints 1" i believe. (Requires a bot to be already added before it works correctly)
Yeah it gets sort of annoying being followed by bots to your secret underground lair. They always make it past my traps.
