I don't remember what it was called, but an old game on the PC I used to play was like overlord, but top-down view and humnas with minions, you coul mine, you could capturee opposing team members and torture them to convert to your side, etc.
It was mostly played in caves, I think. It was fun :P
the game you are thinking of is Dungeon Keeper (2).
good game

Seems like it would be re-made or at least on Steam...
PETA already saw the seal clubbing and said it was OK because you're a blatantly evil person and expected to do evil things and seal clubbing is evil. Surprised me very much.
That's some flawed logic right there.
it's out tomorrow.... yay!
apparently when loading this game, it said that developers of Overlord II did partake in actual seal clubbing. I was sad :(
first one had a huge mindfuck at the end.
[sp]you learn that there were actually 8 heroes and you were the eighth, you got injured and the overlord prepped the minions to take care of you, and when you wake up, you have no memories at all and everybody pretends you are the new overlord, which in fact the original overlord took over the body and mind of one of the heroes, a wizard, and slowly turned the heroes evil, in which you kill throughout the game. When all 7 heroes are defeated, the original overlord retakes his throne, and you have to kill him, yada yada yada insert huge fight here, and the ending is determined by who you take as a mistress, rose (good) or velvet (evil) and both are the original overlords daughters.[/sp]
:eng101:
monstrous mindfuck
I find the humor good, and the gameplay is still good. Though I expect it to get stale after I beat it, I will DEFINITELY rent it.
can any one who has gotten overlord 2 tell if me they like it? I played the demo, but still unsure if I should buy it.
Ehhh...
Demo looked and ran great, and slightly humourus but... it was horribly horribly linear, and the first 10 minutes of the demo pretty much shows all there is to the entire demo (which is short anyways).
I wish I could have unlocked more than 15 paltry minions, the demo told me to gather more lifeforce, and I had up to 60 lifeforce/minion pool but I could only have a max of 15 out at a time, which means basically it told me to do stuff that was useless :\
I'll pass. The only thing that demo told was me was "really linear game, a little bit of a grind, and you'll have horribly capped abilities".
i am playing the full game, it is cool and if you liked the demo you should get it

Oh god, what the hell.
Man, I really want to get the first game now too, find out what happened.
I played the first one and hated it. This one looks a bit better though.
Both extremely linear and boring games.
For a game about being evil, it sure is tame.
The Dungeon Keeper series are superior.
I'd recommend it, fun and unique gameplay(Well, maybe alongside Pikmin) and some pretty good and witty dark humour.
To the poster above: Well, The Dungeon Keeper series is more of a RTS game, hard to compare two different genres.
I'd classify OVerlord as more of a mix between action, puzzle, with some RTS thrown into the mix.
Hmmm, i've hit a bit of a roadblock in the game. I'm trying to defeat the Salamander King, and could use a few pointers.

You get better minion caps through the game, just like the first one.
What's the biggest minion amount you can get?
I got 40 at the end of the game, think you can make a helmet that gives you +10 cap, so 50 I would bet.
You can edit the gamefiles and make it 99 though, if it still works like in the first one.
almost beat the game, been fun so far.
I beat the game, but before that i banged all the ladies.
IMO a if you liked the demo you will LOVE the game, definitly worth the money,i suggest buying the PC version though, from what i hear the 360 version its extremely bugged,it did'nt crash once for me on PC though.
9.0/10
I'm playing through the first one right now, probably gonna buy this one when I'm done.
Those fucking gnomes.
Downloading this off Steam now
Downloading this off Steam now
You should've bought it on disc.
Steam never had the Overlord 1 expansion or multiplayer support, i totally regretted buying it from Steam.
I want a game where you can be real evil. In dark settings with dismemberment and whatnot.

Wait steam only has half the game?
Also what multiplayer?
Hey hey, I just got the game. I started playing like 5 min ago. :buddy:
It has been out for a while now...
Not much different from the first game though. Graphics and controls/gameplay meaning.. Only thing they seemed to change was story.
Still looks pretty good though
Peta elves. I think the game is worth it JUST because you get to smack them in the face. Well, you minions :v:
I'll wait on a special though
