Starcraft 2 BETA Live NOW! - Games

how much hard drive space does it take up because i want to update my specs but i don't know if having 3 GB free is good

1.6GB from what I've heard.

1.63GB is what the launcher said for me.

The game itself is about 2 gigs.

Wiped out the base except for the command center, then I just sat around with infestors, repeatedly infesting the SCVs, made them start building another command center, which became 'my' building if that makes any sense. You can see the infestors, the minimap of my base on the opposite side, and the two command centers and my fresh SCV.

He didn't infest the command center, only an SCV I think.

So, you can do it with SCVs and yeah, go wild. SCVs don't count as mechanical.

And Protoss did keep the Archon, it's not that great to be honest but if you use Protoss right late game then they're pretty much unstoppable. Great turrets plus a bunch of other fun stuff. Terran is the most noob friendly.

I've been watching some games, and a surprisingly effective Terran strategy is to tech straight to Planetary Fortress and Nuclear Strikes. Completely wall your SCVs in with other buildings so they can gather unmolested with the PF guarding them. Send ghosts out to nuke the enemy economy line, tech buildings, or unit factories. Considering that right now, most players are taking advantage of how strong Chrono-zealots and Reaper raids are early game, they're incredibly susceptible to the Planetary Fortress' massive splash damage.

While I don't have access to the beta, I'd still like to get some knowledge/strategies ready.

I got into the beta for going to blizzcon + optin...I'm not that great at rts but yah..I'm getting better as I go along.

Closed betas might have more people willing to report bugs etc.

You need it to play the game, period. You can only watch replays without a beta key, nothing else.
