So do you need the beta key to play online only or do you need it to play the game period?
Where to download replays?
That site has some replays, basically any SC2 site will though.
Other than the graphics, how is SC II different from SC I?
Other than the graphics, how is SC II different from SC I?
New units, buildings, and upgrades. Really not much has been changed from the original formula, but the improvement of the engine has definitely improved the game.
My guess as to why companies do closed betas: More control over what sort of people have the said beta, and maybe it builds a bit more hype, since everyone isn't able to try it.
More control indeed. I think they are testing different computer speccs. All from top notch to lowerend-computers. Trying to get in the most commonly used graphicscards, motherboards, amount of ram, OS etc etc. But that's just my guess about closed betas.

damn, still not got a beta key, never been that keen on starcraft but this looks awesome
Just the first wave has been sent, there's tons more to come. At the end they'll probably invite EVERYONE to stress test the Battle.net servers like they did with Wrath of the Lich King beta.

I guess the game plays a bit faster now.
Just a question to the people who got to play the beta. Are marines any useful?I saw many videos and the marines were dying so easy,in starcraft marines were pretty good.
I'd very much like to test Starcraft 2 just to see how much they ruined Terran. I want my fucking firebats even though I rarley used them.
No firebats, no medics. I'm already hating it.
No firebats, no medics. I'm already hating it.
You can get medivacs which are about the same, just flying. [editline]04:58PM[/editline]
Just a question to the people who got to play the beta. Are marines any useful?I saw many videos and the marines were dying so easy,in starcraft marines were pretty good.
They are, but if the enemy gets to a higher tech they are worthless. Unless of course if you upgrade them and mass them

Unless of course if you upgrade them and mass them
Medivacs are a combination of dropship and medic, they only heal while units are inside them however. Which in turn means marines can no longer be healed in combat and hold off large numbers of zerg. It also means zerg cannot be buffed by medics in multiplayer. Everyone knows that the tier 3 medic/hydralisk assault in SC:BW was near impossible to defend against.
No firebats, no medics. I'm already hating it.
They are gonna be in the editor bro
They are gonna be in the editor bro
Which in turn means you need a custom map.
They are also in the single player campaign.
Medivacs are a combination of dropship and medic, they only heal while units are inside them however.
I don't think you know what you're talking about there.
Do note that this is against the Terms of Use.
Doesn't change the fact that it's awesome.
Doesn't change the fact that it's awesome.
Hacking the game is awesome too. :v:
Firebats? Medics? In my SC2? I'm buying it more likely than you think.
Medivacs are a combination of dropship and medic, they only heal while units are inside them however. Which in turn means marines can no longer be healed in combat and hold off large numbers of zerg. So firebats will be in Campaing too?
Hacking the game is awesome too. :v:
Cheating is different from getting limited access to a closed beta. One allows you to harm and annoy other players and falsify your rank on the leaderboards whereas the other only allows you to watch replays of a closed beta. Think of it as an interactive, live, higher quality, gamecast with no voice over.
stop talking about that stuff on here if they wanted you to watch replays without a beta account they would enable it

Now that the dragoon is gone, does it have a unit similar or equivalent to it? (The immortal?)
Yes, even in the canon it says that the dragoons surviving after the dragoon creation shrine was infested were turned into Immortals
