For some reason the game lags like a motherfucker when Shading's set to anything above medium, and all my particle effects are black.
Fuckin Archons are just giant black balls that roll around and fuck up my shit yo.
Other than that it feels like a really well done Starcraft 1.5, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

It's your computer. I have everything on Max and doesn't lag a bit.

I don't understand why werezing a beta is a problem. We aren't interfering with blizzard's data collecting and I'm certainly going to spend money on the game the day it releases. It would be different if this is something you spent money on or if we went on the servers and broke them or something, but none of that is occuring...
Anyway, I love playing this game. It's a lot of fun testing out the new tactics on the bots. I especially enjoy roach rushes :3. I must say though, this doesn't feel much like starcraft. I mean, it isn't BAD, it just doesn't seem like it's the game I used to play.
My only "complaint" is how light it is. I have an i7 920 and a gtx 260 and can play the game maxed at 1920x1080 without a jitter at any time. That's all fine and good, but I wish I could get it to look better and put my computer through its paces

I'm running Windows 7 64 bit, I've got a quad core, 4gbs ram, and a GeForce 9800 GTX+
Running Starcraft 2 on max should not be an issue.
I'd understand if it was a simple drop in FPS but it's a severe drop from a good 80 to 5-10. So it feels like an issue with 64 bit Windows similar to what Red Faction Guerilla had rather than an issue with my hardware.
^I have the same specs as you and the game runs perfectly smooth. No lag at all.
I run the game on all high on an E8400, 9800GT, 4GB RAM, and Windows 7 64-Bit.

AFAIK, Real version will have higher quality graphics.

I highly doubt that. The engine is essentially done. Some textures and models could be touched up, but for the most part, the beta seems to be for bugs and balancing

Just hit f10 and then click restart, do it until you get the race you want.

Woot! I got in the beta. People are horrible in this, must be some WoW casuals that got in. 4 - 0 in practice league, the matches take too long because I chose novice without knowing that there would be rocks blocking from rushes or scouting and because they don't know how to gg and I need to chase down every scv and random command center he flies away.
I wish I got in the beta.... :(

Well, my mom will get pissed off at me if I play before she sees it and I'm pretty tired right now, so I guess I'll give my opinion later.
Just got done playing a ton of games. My favorite race changes every match and everything is very polished for a beta.
They could sell it how it is now and I'd buy it full price.
I'm liking the beta so far. The only thing I find not great is how the AI is skittish. A hoard of enemies which could easily decimate me will run away at the first sight of my defences, and never really attack. But I presume that will be fixed in the full version.
the ai is "nerf'd" for the beta. you are supposed to fight other players. or you could download a custom ai
Finally I made it into beta :D
I tried it at a friends house, I really suck at this game.
