I did not get into beat but to try and help out.
I changed my specs a few days before they opened the beta so that might of effected me getting in. But mine are.
i7- 860 2.8GHz
ATI Radeon 5770
4 Gigs of DDR3 RAM
1 TB Hard drive.
I joined the beta like a day after they allowed you to.
I have SC and WC3 Frozen throne on my b.net account.

I have Starcraft:Brood War, Diablo 1, Diablo 2:LoD, and Warcraft tFT. I doubt the games you have determine much about whether your accepted or not. It's always going to be the Blizzconners who get it first because instead of being fair Blizzard likes to tease.

Lol. You should see the SC2 forum. People who have been to blizzcon are complaining how they haven't got there keys. But remember this is a beta and beta doesn't mean play the game for free. It means play but find bugs to make the game better for release.

i only have the frozen throne and reign of chaos though, I have all the CD's for starcraft and world of warcraft, but i don't know where the cd-keys are found for them.
The music isn't as good as SC1 from what I'm hearing from the 1UP stream recordings.

I barely played SC1 so I don't remember a lot of what that music sounded like, but I really like the SC2 music.

It's not bad, but the first song that played sounded like some retarded hick trying to play music for the first time. At about 12-15 minutes into the video though a song plays that reminds me of Starcraft 1, and even has a kind of Diablo-ness to it as well, I like that one.
The games not half bad. No AA though. I heard you can turn it up in nvidia control panel. (I'm still terrible at rts)
