You cant really use the ridepod all the time, Once you get into one of those blue/red seals and your forced to play as monica, if you dont know how to use her/she has her starting health. Chances are she's going to get killed by the first turtle you see in sindain (The rainbow butterfly forest or something)
was dark cloud 1 where on the first level you went into a cave and you found a cat or something and my friend called it either soap or bubbles then at the boss battle you had to fight this possessed lion or something but it turned out to be your friend then you flew to a faraway place but then we had to take the rental copy back and never got the actual game because if so then yes i loved it, but if not, then, well, give me a box.

Actually, aDark Cloud 3 was/is being heavily rumored to be announced at TGS09, along with Grandia 4 and Legend of Dragoon 2.
I doubt this though, as today is the last day of TGS.
I'm not sure about Legend of Dragoon 2, but TGS09 and Dark Cloud 3 are a no show now.
From what I heard, they started working on both, but (from what I heard) the didn't have enough funding for either.

Same here, you never would know when they'd show up and they made scary noises. Now that I'm older, it's fine, and I almost see a pattern of when they show up.
I played Dark Cloud (1).. Was easily my favourite game. I was only able to complete up to the part were you start building that huge ass machine thing to defeat the dark genie.. or something..
I never bought Dark Chronicle as I was extremely confused if it was actually Dark Cloud 2 or just an entirely different game :/

The second one was.. Well, okay. Story was ok and building towns was addicting, but the battle gameplay was IMO a bit boring.
Agreed, the dungeon crawling was a bitch, but the town building was AWESOME! Once you beat the Nightmare thing after beating Emperor Griffon, you can build the towns however you want. I took all the people I could from all the towns and made Sindain into an awesome town. Next time I get to borrow my friends capture card I'll make a video.
I must have over 20+ hours in the Carpenterion.

Well... Once you get the ridepod, they arnt a problem. since your like... 8 feet high and packing a cannonball pawnch.
I always open the mimics from behind so it has to turn around to attack me :v:
Me and my friend had many many saves on this game, we sometimes spent hours just training our fish.
I only played the demo of the first one, and it looked great but the entire version wasn't available here sadly.

Yeah It was released in Europe. I had it on my ps2 but now I can't find it :( But I still have Dc2. Meh its just not the same.
