LOVED the first one, completed the 100 floor dungeon, got all the best weapons for each character. But i never got around to the second one.

Well the Materials were a lot worse in the second game, and the Dungeons weren't long enough. When I was little, it took me a long time to beat the game, but now that I've played it now, it only took about 9 hours play time (a lot of tinkering around in the Carpenterion.)
Also, I think they should have brought back the multiple playable characters besides the Ridepod, Max and Monica. Without cheats, I could never get a good Armband, and always had to use the sword. The sword sucked against the robots and the golems, so when a Red Seal came up, I always stocked up on throwable items, and could never get very far with Monica, and I'd have to powerlevel her weapons if I fell too far behind.
hahaha damn man I did the same thing like a month ago. thought about making a thread but i was too lazy. burned like forty hours starting from the beginning going through the zelmite mines.
but yeah the one main point i want to make is that the soundtrack is amazing for both games.

yeah no matter how overpowered my sword, wrench, and gun got i could never get a decent armband going and i ususally just relied on what treasure chests gave me.
and yeah i dunno i didnt get that much enjoyment out of georama. I could never feel the urge to get started on making a really cool town, and by the end of the game you could tell by the look of buildings and shit that i hilariously just phoned it in.
I just ended up never using my armband. I think the couple times that I actually used it was maybe in Balance Valley, and that was when it was on a Red Seal with golems. My sword was doing less damage than my sword so I said fuck it and just used the armband the entire time, which made finishing the map about 10 times longer...
Anyway, I'm getting a capture card soon, but I'll use a camera to post what my Sindain looks like. I wish I could change the background forest town because the inside looks more like a port town, and the only reason why I used Sindain for my idea, was because it had the ability to throw rivers on it. I would have put a lot more stuff on it, but the points that you spend by placing everything dry up so fast in Sindain because you only start with like 3,700 or somewhere around there which doesn't give me much to work with.
Also, I just figured out you can paint the sides of houses and buildings. I never noticed it until this weekend, so now I'm going to go about and paint all the houses a good combo of colors. Thank god I saved my action replay from so long ago, and I'll have the money for lots of paint. :uhaul:

Yeah, Action Replay is pretty usefull for making life a little eayser.
Im going to try and play without maxing out all the weapons to hell. But i'll keep the Money cheat. Saves a lot of time having to look for paint and bricks and that when your skint.
Gaah speaking of Action Replay, I can't wait to get Final Fantasy X again, cus my copy is so scratched that I can't get passed the beginning. Anyway, I just started Dark Cloud 1 this weekend, and I'm like about 4 floors down so far. .__.
Action Replay + Weapon Modifier Codes + FFX = Yuna with a sword, xD
Haha, that is made of win. I don't know why, but I like the sphere grid a lot... With unlimited S.Levels, and all the Master Sphere items I can have, 1 hit K.O.!

Dude I made it to the end of that game after taking months because I kept getting stuck and the disc is too scratched so I can't progress past the cinematic before the last boss. Fuck.

all i used in dark cloud 1 was the first character (the guy with the sword). i cant even remember how i passed all of those limited zones.

oh yeah and also Osmond (the guy with the guns) , but i didnt start leveling him until i got to the bonus dungeon after the main game. turns out he rules because all you have to do with him is circle strafe the shit out of enemies like they were the cyberdemon
Yeah, doesn't he use the laser? I thought that he was pretty cool, but since he was near the end of the game it took a while to level up.

I can't remember how many times I've seen that intro. Also, Amazon is very good for finding old PS2 games not even opened.

Thank you for this contentless bump asking for something that probably will not happen, i am very gratefull you bumped this thread for no reason, because that means that i can now tell you, that it was quite a bit stupid of you, seeing as it is over two years old, and there is really nothing more to talk about than what has already been said in this thread previously.
Recently started playing 1 again, decided to buy 2, expecting it to be basically the same. So i play and play for ages without saving and i die. and thats that. game over.
