So every time I post that Coop picture somewhere at least one person goes: "I loved that show."
However, I'd still sign up for combine surgery, if only they'd let me keep my emotions and my penis...
Yea, i'd like them to leave my nose because i like smelling ... stuff, and my teeth because i like to chew gum
We all do, son, we all do...
Metro cop: Pros: Awesome Suit, Beatings, get to keep your 'captain', WHO DOESN'T LOVE THAT BAD ASS MECHANICAL VOICE? Cons: Too lazy to think of any...sorry.
just give me the suit and helmet or the HEV suit and helmet
CP's job: Beat/kill, rape, reck peoples shit, look badass. seems fun But in all seriouseness i would much rather become one and die in the line of fire for an obviously surperior race, anything that another race doe's to earth is better than what we were doing.
I'd rather be a Rebel Soldier. FOR THE HUMENS!
I would only join the civil protection if I got the badass trench coat.
Because I'd rather fight the evil imperialist invaders and take back whats mine! :argh: Of course I'll be sure to always have something to commit suicide with if I'm about to be captured.
I agree that CP get to keep memories and stuff, which was how Barney was able to spy, and I see that their numbers decline as you go through the game. I wonder why this is. I assume that in the first few levels, that's the number of CP that's normal for city 17, as it would be easier to have them around as opposed to soldiers when there's nothing too serious going on. Then you don't see any in Ravenholm because it's deserted, and after that you get closer to Nova Prospekt and the combine are after you anyway, so it would make sense for there to be more soldiers there. Now after you appear a week later, there are hardly any CP units left, there were a few, but hardly any. There are a lot of probable reasons for this; the combine saw that humanity was resisting and therefore converted more of them into soldiers, and a lot of them would have gotten killed, and nobody new would join them. Another one is that a lot could have switched sides, assuming they all have free will like Barney, however we never see any of them fighting alongside the rebels. Could they not change sides or anything? Even so, I still find it odd. CP clothes would probably provide much better protection from weapon fire than what most of the rebels wore, so I'd figure that there would be some left if they had changed sides, or civilians might have stolen some armour. And the few that were seen as enemies either had no will, or they wanted to have combine rule.I know I'm thinking way too much about this though, maybe valve didn't think about putting in friendly CP units or maybe they thought of it but then didn't because you could potentially mistake one for an enemy. Although I think it is worth thinking about whether or not CP really have their own thoughts.

Also if you look closely, rebels do wear the CP vests. The number of CPs you see decline most likely because the presence of Freeman has escalated the conflict, so the heavier armored soldiers are used more frequently and the CPs could be relegated to lesser duties. Also if you listen to the dialog at the end of EP 1, barney mentions something about how all the 'chickenshit metrocops' were running away as soon as it became apparent that the combine were loseing ground, so there could be more metrocop convertees in ep 3. Also, whats to say that there werent a number of former metrocops already in the resistance that simply switched sides. The reason for no 'friendly' civil protection guys, other then Barney is simply common sense: If you are in a war, and switch sides for one reason or another, you wouldn't wear the same uniform/ armor that you previously wore. Why? Because you would get shot by both sides. An entire army isnt notified when one guy defects to their side so they see an enemy in an enemy uniform and they will shoot on site. The enemy will see one of their own shooting at them and do the same. It is also an act of defiance to remove all the combiney stuff from them, and to don the chunk of combine metal with the lambda painted on.
Just a tip, but next time break up your idea instead of posting a huge block of text.
I actually did, but then FP broke, so I copy and pasted somewhere else to save it which got rid of the line breaks D: And yeah, that all makes sense.
I'd love the be a headcrab zombie.
The reason there are no more CP is because all the city 17 citizens turned to either rebels or Combine. Then the ones who chose the Combine got turned into soldiers instead of CP and now that there are no more citizens to convert to Combine their numbers will start dwindling. Atleast that is my theory.
The reason there are no more CP is because they have all turned to rebels and the rest of the citizens who are neutral have been forced to pick a side. Then the ones who chose the combine got turned into soldiers. Atleast that is my theory.
Your theory is stupid.
I don't think the game ever mentions removal of genitalia. It mentions memory implants and shows the combine still having some kind of personality. For example, the breen speech at nova prospekt, the beers found in some of the soldiers bases in highway 17, the shit exclamations, and so on. Also the announcer at some point mentions non mechanical sexual stimulation, so I think they still have some form of genitals. Maybe a combine citadel penis with dark energy testicles
i wanna be a combine super soldier there more armored you look way more bad as your super and i think you might get treated better and you get a kick as ride
The reason there are no more CP is because they have all turned to rebels and the rest of the citizens who are neutral have been forced to pick a side. Then the ones who chose the combine got turned into soldiers. Atleast that is my theory.
The reason there is no more CP is because they've been fighting for a week. Outnumbered and losing ground, the were easy prey for rebel guerrillas to kill them. That's why almost every rebel in the game has a Civil Protection vest and an SMG. A week after the war started CP numbers were low, Combine Soldiers have come to replace them in battle. By Episode 1 only small pockets of combine loyalists were still alive and willing to fight. With only 2 options (fight to the death and try to take some rebels with you or don't fight and die in a huge explosion). By Episode 2, it is likely that most or all CP officers are dead, as the Combine was only evacuating it's most important and useful, CP officers being neither.
My mistake, what I meant to say was that all the human citizens chose one of the sides, the rebels or the Combine, and that the remaining of the current CP were converted to soldiers or were killed. That's why you don't see people with the city 17 pedestrian clothes anymore.
i wanna be a combine super soldier there more armored you look way more bad as your super and i think you might get treated better and you get a kick as ride
And you get only one eye.
I am disappoint.
GORDON IS SMILING!!! HOW CAN HE!?!! HE HAS NO FEEEEELIIIIiIIINGS!
I mean, it'd be cool to be a metrocop, besides the fact of no more babies.
I mean, it'd be cool to be a metrocop, besides the fact of no more babies.
Why would you want to have babies? So it can grow up being brainwashed and raised to be an oppressor?

From a long range Barney from behind could be mistaken as a CP.
So why isn't Barney shot? The only thing human you can see is his head. From a long range Barney from behind could be mistaken as a CP.
Because he's Barney damnit! Besides he's always seen leading groups of rebels. If I see a CP officer with a group of rebels not shooting him, then I'll assume he's A: Prisoner, or B: On our side.
