Check EVE University for combinations of stuff to make. Should make your life easier.

With a single lava planet, you can make Smartfab Units which are P3. But it might be more profitable to sell the P2 or P1 or even the P0. Check the markets to find out. Same goes for Condensates on a Gas planet, and Transcranial Microcontrollers on a Barren.

Do your research like anything else, basically.
