Friends in a corp that just got a pos snatched apparently, all I can say is I wish I was the one who did it, the entire corp is like this.
So guys, I'm pretty new to EVE, I've got a mining barge, the medium one, forgot what it's called, procurer or something. I've been doing 0.7 mining, got a heavy attack drone for protection from NPC pirates. I wouldn't say I'm one for going to really low zones and risking it, I'll do that all in good time, but right now I just want to buff my high-sec mining abilities, so... any suggestions for ships, skills, fittings?

it's a retriever. don't use one large, use five smalls. works much better.

train straight for a hulk, if mining is going to be your main source of income. but you may want to wait to buy it, hulkageddon 3 is coming up, and prices may be affected. oh and if your jetcan mining, I'd train either gallente or minmatar industrial to level 5 so you'll have a good hauler.
also, find yourself a good backwoods 0.5ish system. trust me. it helps alot. where I mine there's only 4-7 people in the system at any given time, so there's more of everything than I can physically mine.
oh and use 5 light scouts instead of 1 heavy. heavies will actually be really ineffective against frigs, which is all you'll find out there.

hulkageddon is mass gankage of highsec mining ships.
What's the point in that, they'll lose much more than they're destroying in the process, Unless someone is mining with all T2 Rigs and equipment in high sec, in a Hulk, then they probably deserve it... Just a T1 Fitted Hulk, Not so much worth it

Insurance covers most of the loss, and the good drops from Hulks pay for the rest.
Im trying to get +5 sec standing so i have lots to gank during hulkageddon and can access highsec still.

Unless it's a .5 or .6 system, I don't see anything short of something along the lines of a Battleship taking out a well prepared Hulk before Concord shows up
