I'm having quite a bit of fun in Eve at the moment, got into a bit of exploring, invited a friend who thankfully likes it, got raped by Concord due to stupidity, and am about to reach the required skills to use a Raven in about 2 days. Yay!

So I have only about 1.6 million sp and haven't begun to train for BC's yet. I want to go down the path of recon ships, curse specifically. Is it worth it? How long would it take to train? and is the curse good in nullsec? I'm considering just skipping bc and bs training and focusing solely on frigs first to get a HAF and then finally a recon ship.
Any opinions? You will achieve eve mentor status by answering my question :)

Hell yeah. Curse is a great PVP Boat. Good solo, and very helpful in gangs. The problem you'll have is affording them if you don't have any stable income, because they are rather pricey.

Get an Arbitrator, work up drones and lasers to T2. (For the curse you need Drone Interfacing IV or V if you realllllly like drones). Get BC's, Harbinger is pretty fun. Then get recons. They're T2 because they're expensive, and require alot of prereqs to be used effectively.
Frigs > Arbitrator (minicurse) > Harbinger > ??? > Curse > Profit!

It's really easy to crosstrain to a drake, remember this for ratting.
You'll also get some extra useful skills for other Amarr ships, like the Sacrilege.

This is actually a corp member's drake. His account is from 2004. I feel ashamed.
The only way someone who started in 2004 wouldn't understand basic fitting concepts is if the person made the account, played for a little bit, and then left the game for 6 years. I'm guessing that character was bought off ebay or with plex.
We also suspect it to be bought, he lost 3 blockade runners in a week.
So THAT'S the fag that lost those.
You guys should expel and blackbag him.
