Complexing in good 0.0 is the most lucrative method of moneymaking at this point (and complexing in general) One of my corpies ninja-plexes 0.0 on off days and now has like 13b in his wallet from faction drops. I have been a miner (started out and ran with it for months) and it is honestly not the way to go if you want to make money with one account. If you do happen to have 3+ accounts you can make a good profit, but the cost comes at incredibly boring work and losing all your Sp to noncom skills.

Also, sorry Tarkin. My Internet died and we're going out to eat, so I probably won't be able to log back on for about four hours. But even when I get back from Hawaii, I'm probably going to spend most of my time getting ISK and learning skills, so hopefully you won't get tired of my endless questions and you'll let me salvage your L4s. :v:
Who ever knew Eve online ganking would include shooping combatlogs?
I bought this game yesterday and I haven't slept since as I am so addicted to this game.
Some of you may recall the last massive wall of text I posted. Specifically, about my friend and I suicide ganking my CEO's Mackinaw. That taught me something. Something very important. Something that I will hold near and dear to me for as long as I live. That something? It's better to settle things diplomatically than by resorting to something as immature as going behind the backs of the very people who trust you to backstab them over some petty, stupid differences. I pledged from that day forward I would never resort to ganking again. Oh, was I wrong. So, so wrong. But the difference between what happened on the very early morning of July 19th, 2010 and the event of the Mackinaw gank is but a small, slight change of time, planning, and of course, justification. I had been chatting in the Facepunch Chat channel with the regulars; people like BFD, Sani Venner, and a few others. I rather enjoy helping out new players in the vast universe of EVE. Sort of acting as a mentor and a faucet of free ISK. Being of my kind, lovable nature, it had come to my attention that BFD was in a corporation full of hulking neanderthals. He had been going on about the shittiness of his corp for several days, and had even linked some of the fits of his corpmates. They were laughable. I mean, these fits were much worse than WhiteFox's (no hard feelings, mang.) Around 1:00 AM Central Standard Time, BFD linked a conversation between him and a new, recent addition to their corporation. A character going by the name of "Slayer***", a mere three days old. At first glance I assumed he was just a noob. But upon observing his employment history, Sani brought to my attention that he may just be a ganker attempting to get some last kills in before Hulkageddon is officially over. It made sense. He had hopped around several corps in several days. All of which were industrial corps. Now, at this moment in time I wasn't going to gank this guy. At all. This is hardly enough evidence for me to do such a thing. It could just be some wacky, inconvenient coincidence. But BFD started pasting more snippets of conversations with this guy. Slayer was continuously pressing BFD, asking him if he was a miner or if he was mining. This added quite a bit of suspicion. It was just so odd. Several snippets later it was blatantly obvious this "Slayer" was just trying to troll BFD, and was doing a very bad job at it. So I decided to hop on the very alt I used to screw over my CEO. Only this time, I wasn't going to gank my CEO. I was going to gank Slayer. 100% justified. So off I went. On my way to the system Slayer was in, we hatched our plan. BFD was going to lure Slayer into a mission while I was going to play the card of "Noob who wants standings" to make it not seem suspicious. BFD also convinced Slayer to fit for pure DPS. On top of this, Slayer was in a Catalyst. So it was even. Both of us fitted for nothing but DPS. :v: We would all meet up at the gate to the mission site. I would close in a bit, and BFD would passive target him and warp scramble him when I got into position. Since the two of them were in the same corp, he could do this without getting CONCORDed. And so it was decided. After about 20 minutes I made it to their system, and put the plan into motion. I couldn't squeeze out quite enough DPS. Only managed to get him to 20% structure and CONCORD popped me. But BFD laid the final blow with a volley of missiles. Slayer roared up in their corp chat channel and immediately put both BFD and I in the limelight for interrogation. We both played the idiot card, claiming that Slayer was blown up by an NPC. "Then why does he have kill rights on you?" "I looted his wreck to give his stuff back to him." "Why don't you have it?" "I gave it to BFD after he told me Slayer would have kill rights on me, he told me to go dock so he could give it back to him and explain it." Luckily Slayer doesn't even know how to screen cap or send out killmails, so we were in the clear. And then, this question was put on us: "Can I have a screencap of your combat log?" Oh SHIT, the two of us thought. I checked my combat log, it was empty. Probably because BFD had laid the final blow. But I did as I was told, took a screencap and sent it. Since BFDs obviously wasn't clean, I sent him a link to one that was and he got to work editing it in PAINT.NET, should he be prompted to show his combat log. The edit wasn't necessarily flawless. It had a few very hard to notice errors, but it would suffice. One would have to examine the picture very closely to pick up on the fakery. We were almost in the clear. Now all we had to do was prove that Slayer was a lying slimeball, somehow get his corpmates to turn against him or get him kicked out of the corp. Luckily, since BFD had laid the final blow, his name appeared in the killmail that Slayer finally figured out how to send. But, both of our combat logs were totally clean. BFD brought up that perhaps Slayer had falsified his killmail to frame the two of us. And they believed it. They took the bait, and one of the corpmates got to work on dealing with it. Things hadn't gone as I planned. I didn't want to frame someone for something they didn't do, not at all. I wanted to say it was me who ganked him in the beginning, but due to the security of the system at the time of the gank, it was impossible to do that. So I had to play the idiot card and, in the end, ended up framing someone. Harsh? No doubt. Justified? Definitely.
You're amazing, I want to be with you [editline]06:14AM[/editline] The only story I have that even remotely resembles outsmarting someone is a Guy in a Dominix took from my Jetcan. Well I had a Corp mate docked in that station while I was outside, so I orbited and locked onto him and he locked onto me. In the meantime my mate was fitting a passive targeter and undocked. I told him to Target him and shoot him, since He'd only see me as the guy targeting him and he knows it was my Jetcan, he'll probably think I shot him and then shoot me Bingo. Concord popped his ass instantly. And this is my story of how a Merlin survived a Volley from a Dominix and scooped up his delicious cargo We weren't called Ninja Death Kitty for nothing. good times
Complexing? And Ninja-plexing?
Complexing (AKA plexing) is the name given to the process of using probes to scan out Deadspace Complexes. These complexes, depending on their level, can drop incredibly great loot that sells for hundreds of millions of ISK. Ninja-plexing is scanning out a complex that someone else is running, and getting to the goodies before they do.
Okay, So I can hardly complete a level 2 mission in a Ferox. My setup is two blasters, three railguns and 2 missiles launchers. I also have a shield booster, an afterburner, warp scrambler and webber. What am I doing wrong?

Afterburner is good, but ultimately useless since medium rails can cover quite a decent range, webber seems okay for the lack of tracking speed of the rails. But the warp scrambler is unnecessary for PvE. If you were to slap nothing but rails on that, it would be total overkill for L2s. You may also want to strap some shield hardeners on, based on the faction you're fighting.

What am I doing wrong?
Alright, some pointers: - The Ferox is not meant to handle frigates, which is mostly what you encounter in L2s. They're meant to use medium hybrid turrets, which have problems tracking frigates at close range. Most if not all of your shots won't land when they get close. - Warp scramblers are not needed for missions. Rats won't warp out of the site. - Don't mix turret types. Pick one type and use only those. The idea is you want to be able to focus your fire on one target at a time, with each of your guns having the same optimal range. -Using a battlecruiser is a poor choice for L2s. They're meant to engage cruisers and up. You'll only ever see the occasional cruiser in a L2, and when you do, they're always low level.

That's in liquid isk in his wallet as well. Not to mention his 2 Rattlesnake blueprints he hasn't sold and his insane amount of faction mods. I hate him but I love him at the same time. :(
Am I the only one getting random socket drops? It haven't been a problem before, and it seems like other people are having it too. But does any FP'er have this problem at the moment?

Ninja plexing is just going to hostile space and doing their complexes. Ninja looting is what your referring to.
How risky s it? Explain more. :v:
The complexes that drop the really good loot are in nullsec. That means surviving not only the plex, but other players. If you get a good drop, you need to get it back to highsec to sell it (unless you're in npc nullsec, then you can use the market, but the item may take a long time to sell). To put it simply, nullsec plexing is probably the hardest PVE activity you can do in EVE, unless you have a sov holding alliance.
I honestly have no idea what I am doing in the game at the moment! I have just jumped about 40 times from where I did the tutorial missions and I have done two 'go kill people' missions...
Anyone recommend a moderatly high dps fit for a rifter? I want to be aable to take down a battleship rat with somewhat decent speed. If there are not any rifter fits like that, can anyone recommend me an appropriate ship? For the love of god, do not tell me to get into a drake or something, speed tanking is the only way to go.
theres probably the minor bottleneck of any BS with reppers, but if your skills are good enough you can probably overcome it

The Mouth of Sauron?
