Cap Ships don't mean you're any better honestly. I could be (Competently) in a Thanatos now, but I choose not to bother, since it doesn't fit my playstyle.
Not to mention that caps make perfect targets.

How does the extended trial thing work and how long does it last for?
There is some mining upgrade module that costs 300mil + in jita and drops from highsec belt rats.

A current player gives you an invite, you get a 21 day trial (with a couple of restrictions to prevent people using 21 day accounts for macro mining and similar), they get a month free.
