im using a bestower to mine on a scale of 1 to 10 how much of a shit idea is this
It's okay if you don't care about your yield and just don't want to sit at your computer because it would take forever to fill up the cargo hold, better than sitting in some station somewhere, but in general, bad idea.

What do wormholes do? Just take you to a random place?
They can take you to either wormhole space, which is uncharted, has no stargates, and have ebil npcs called sleepers, or it can take you to charted hisec, lowsec, or nullsec systems. After it is decided which one of those it will go to, it is random, yes.
What do wormholes do? Just take you to a random place?
Wormholes take you to either K-space, meaning another system with a security status of 1.0 to 0.0, to where you can get by stargate, or to W-space, which is only accessible through wormholes. W-space mechanics are different to k-space. For one, the Local chat can not be used as an intel tool, as you only see people who have spoken there. Jumpdrives can not be used, mass restrictions apply, and various stellar phenomena (black hole, cataclysmic variable, pulsar, etc.) may give wanted or unwanted boosts/nerfs to various aspects of your ship. W-space is inhabited by drones known as Sleepers, which use an advanced AI system. Their salvage is a necessary compoment for Tech 3 technology, but killing them can prove very difficult. Anyway, W-space is divided into 6 classes, C1 to C6. C1 is the easiest, with solo-eable drones, but is also the less lucrative in terms of salvage and asteroids (more on those later). C6 absolutely requires a well organised fleet, because the drones there are very aggresive and very powerful. C1 and C2 are considered soloeable in a good ship (Battlecruiser or Battleship) with a decent tank, but C3+ drones will break even the most well thought-out fit. Now, asteroids in W-space are not in asteroid belts, but rather in scannable Gravimetric sites. Finding those can be difficult, but depending on the class of the wormhole, gravimetric fields can support a huge number of ships mining them for an extended amount of time. Additionally, depending on the type of the anomaly, you may get access to valuable, null-sec ores. PvP mechanics are equivalent to null-sec, meaning CONCORD will NOT interfear nor will there be a standing loss for the attacker, and POS's can be anchored to provide a short-term home. More on wormholes can be found on www.evelopedia.com/Wormholes or www.evelopedia.com/Sleeper_sites
Thanks, I was watching a scanning tutorial!
Do you have an account on EVE or are you preparing for it?
Do you have an account on EVE or are you preparing for it?
Preparing, waiting to see if I can get an extended trial
I can give you one :v:
I can too, I can also give you isk and let you salvage my L4 missions if you subscribe and give me 30 free days. Salvaging battleship wrecks is the best way for new players to make money.
salvaging is shit and I'll give you isk anyways - take Alien's invite.
Sorry, already taking Aliens kind invite
I finally went into low-sec for the first time ever today :D So much potential when there is nobody else in the system.
salvaging is shit
That's just plain wrong. For a new player, there is no better way to make easy money. Salvaging Angel, Sansha, and Blood L4 missions can give millions in isk. What other activity can a player less than a week old do to make more money? Not counting isk buying/player donations obviously.
Why does nobody give me isk. :saddowns: I'm trying to mine with a fucking coercer, for god's sake. :saddowns:
I'm quitting Eve and giving away 63.3 billion isk. Send me any amount of isk and I'll send tripple back. Character name is Chribba
Why does nobody give me isk. :saddowns: I'm trying to mine with a fucking coercer, for god's sake. :saddowns:
What's your name in EVE? Join the FP channel (click speech bubble in the upper right corner of the chat window and join Facepunch Chat) and people will help you. For starters, stop mining and do something better. Train your salvaging skills and tag along with someone who runs L4 missions.
I'm quitting Eve and giving away 63.3 billion isk. Send me any amount of isk and I'll send tripple back. Character name is Chribba
lol you. :raise:
Downloading EVE now, can't wait
Ahh thanks, I'll PM someone about it then
Me! Me!
Me! Me!
Already got an invite, sorry mate!
pvp in rifters. have fun. don't fucking salvage or mine or mission and shit like that.
pvp in rifters. have fun. don't fucking salvage or mine or mission and shit like that.
I'm going to have to write a dissertation on the various moneymaking professions.
Is mining a good way to make lots of ISK as a newbie?
Mining isn't a good way to make isk ever.
Mining isn't a good way to make isk ever.
Well what is :v:, for a newbie
Is mining a good way to make lots of ISK as a newbie?
absolutely worst idea you can have when i was a newbie and with low sp + cheap clones + no implants i spent most of my time in 0.0 and lowsec, salvaging belts and what was left over from fights, it was possible to make up to 100mil a day from it before salvage prices dropped alot.
Salvaging is great for newbies while they train combat skills to do the missions themselves.
Well what is :v:, for a newbie
Try running missions, they are very good ISK-wise. I still preffer to mine in my trusty hulk though :v:
