as a 2.6m SP pilot, I can be in a tengu in 41 days and have the recommended certs in 72. its such a bad idea that it's good.
T3 ships actually have a very low SP-Bar to use them effectively. Often you can be in a Well fit T3 before you have all the skills to fly an equivalent T2. The problem is their exorbitant cost. You can be in a Tengu very quickly, but having all the key missile skills, shield skills, and subsystem skills to 5 will take you much longer than those 41 or even 72. At that point you would only be using the tengu at partial efficiency, but even that partial efficiency, given a good semi-faction fit will make you quite a tough target. However, this cost and assumed faction fit makes you an instant primary in any engagement. You can cheat your way to competency in T3's, and low SP. But you're really kicking yourself hard because you're not really making any progress. Usually people who speed to T3's aren't good for anything other than lol killmails on eve-kill's weekly. They're fun to fly, especially with some logistics behind you, but it's not a good move, like any normal ship, to fly something that expensive without the skills to support it. tl;dr = Don't do it at 2.6msp.
Okay I just started playing again, I have about 400k ISK and I have no idea what im doing. I completely forgot how to do stuff.

I wouldn't risk that much of an investment in any type of PvP engagement (obviously outside of being suicide ganked) without having a damn good alternate income. There's obviously other ways to go about missioning, but the Tengu has been a personal favorite ship of mine since I started.
I wish CCP would hurry and implement a "set all" button when setting planetary extractor cycle times.
I just realized how hard this game is. SO many skills to learn, in so little time.
How long would you guys say it would take to get to level 4 missions from basically scratch? Excluding skills and the likes of course.
How long would you guys say it would take to get to level 4 missions from basically scratch? Excluding skills and the likes of course.
running level 4s with someone willing to split the reward is much faster than working up to 1s/2s/3s, but you don't get much actual experience that way.
Can I join someones corp I need one that helps new players. Im not exactly new but I only played for a month and its been 8 months since I played.
Is the Drake actually any good in PvP? I've bought my first one a week ago and got 57 mil from level 3s so far, but have never actually PvP'd and keep hearing Caldari are garbage for PvP.

Fit your drake with extenders, a MWD and some HMs and you'll be set.
I wish I wasn't so busy so I could log on once in a while and tend to my corpies.

I totally skipped the battleship stage and ran L4s in my Drake for months until I was able to fly a Tengu competently. Not only did the skills I spend on making my Drake a maximum gank/tank boat, those skills also made my future ship fitting skills much better and opened up more capabilities for me. Despite the fact that little icon says T3, it's totally useless if you lack the funds and skills to use it. Much like Bul said, with any fancy ship you won't be good with it if you lack the support skills.

Probably the dev's playing starcraft on the servers :smug:.
gonna refit my drake with better than-basic shield power relays and get some t2/best named heavy launchers to replace my assault launchers i will hopefully start not sucking [editline]01:45PM[/editline] i want to get to the point where i can easily solo AE4 and then salvage it, and then cross-train into amarr or minmatar and start pvping on a jump clone somewhere. maybe
[editline]06:28AM[/editline] Ain't nobody ever gonna listen to BBJ [editline]06:28AM[/editline] I told you to wait
FYI he's getting his support skills up for the Tengu first which will allow him to fit a great PvE Drake.
Is the Drake actually any good in PvP?
Yeah, they're great for both solo and fleets actually.
Yeah, they're great for both solo and fleets actually.
The fun part is if you have logi, you can fit a fuckton of utility mids, since the resist tank is all you really need to survive. I haven't flown them yet personally (because I lack T2 HAMS) but kinda want to since I have Battlecruiser V now. Command ships in a few days. :fappery:
:fappery:
best avatar yet.
best avatar yet.
stop i'm tired of seeing people derail threads over the nsfw avatars its a fucking retarded fad

The extra bonuses you get from it are great.
Tell me, what is the point in the BPO for the Primae? I mean look at it, it doesn't even have a manufacturing tab.
if you disagree you are 12 or in the closet
I think he is just mad that they de-rail threads. I personally enjoy the pictures and do wonder where the source of Bulaba0's is. Anyway, I don't know what to go for next. I want a carrier or a command ship but both will take 3 months of training. I can fly a Tengu but I'm not sure if I want to spend the ISK on one. It almost seems it would be better to just get a Bhaalgorn or a Rattlesnake for a couple hundred more million.
