I don't like flying battleships because they're slow. With a Tengu I can have the firepower and tank of a well equipped CNR with the mobility of a Caracal with an afterburner

Tengus don't have the firepower of a CNR, buddy boy. Using T1 scourges, a max skill Tengu does 559 dps, CNR does 768. If you jump to T2 furies, Tengu does 715, CNR does 917.
What the Tengu can do is fit a nasty tank, 2000+ dps perma-run. But it doesn't kill as fast as the CNR, and for L4 missions, you really don't need a 2000 dps tank. I'd rather have higher gank, since you'll finish missions much faster doing more damage.

The extra 200 dps makes missions quite a bit faster than 5%. Not to mention the fact that you don't need to waste time shooting frigates.
I will admit, the CNR is a great mission runner and if that's your style I won't argue with you. But we all have our preferences. It just so happens I like to be more than a brick while running missions. Keeps me sane.

Moving around doesn't make the mission any more exciting for me. I tried doing it in a Machariel with a burner and repeating arty, it's just as boring, but with the added annoyance of having to get close to the target before doing any real damage.
Being able to sit in place and just kill everything allows me to do other stuff while I run missions, which is better for the sanity I think.
Since I have the day off work I'm gonna PLEXPLEXPLEX all day so I won't be a poor bastard anymore.
