But don't take my opinion on it. It really depends on how much time you're willing to devote to harvesting specific materials to produce good selling, expensive advanced processed materials.

Planetary vehicles, construction blocks, microscopic organisms, etc...
Enriched Uranium and Robotic Parts are the only two things I see out of everything one can make with PI that seems useful.

PI also gives components for T2 production. I use it to make rocket fuel for T2 missiles (I prefer making my own ammo to buying it).
Yeah I was just about to start a mission when I couldn't launch any missiles or drones, then I proceeded to try to dock which didn't work out. Nobody was moving around the station. It's the entire cluster I think, as I asked through Alliance chat, and lag was everywhere.

The latest PC Powerplay magazine here in Aus contained a trial to EVE Online: Tyrannis, so I thought I would give that a shot later today.
I've read the OP so I know it's not going to be easy, but how long would you guys say the learning curve is?

Depends, to get the general gist of things down takes a couple of weeks, but there are definitely things I don't know anything about and I've been playing for over a year.

Went out with the Amarr militia today, hunting a minmatar fleet double our size (30). Ended up killing an Abbadon, a Strategic Cruiser, and a couple of battle-cruisers.
All in all, over a billion in damages.

The Strategic cruiser was a proteus.
