Probes
Yeah, combat probes.
Did you watch that video I posted here? It's how I got started in the ninja salvaging business.
Just scanned down two guys running a L4 mission. One guy in his Drake actually running the mission, the other guy in a destroyer salvaging it. A fucking destroyer.
I hoovered up all their salvage for them.
The guy in the destroyer even tried to tractor one, but I salvaged it even whilst he was tractoring it.
Good lols.
What's wrong with salvaging in a destroyer
[editline]12:04AM[/editline]
In fact I wouldn't want to salvage in anything else
cruisers make good savagers, particularly the thorax.
Catalyst/Cormorant > everything for salvaging
Catalyst/Cormorant > everything for salvaging
LOL no
They're slow, sluggish, and can't do shit for ninja'ing. The high turret slot is attractive but tbh, if your looking at stealing salvage from right under the mission runners nose, get yourself a fast T1 frig.
Or if you're feeling adventerous, a covert ops
Uh why? they can't attack you if you're just salvaging
A dessy is the best for salvaging a mission that you can use tractor beams on, four tractors four salvagers works great.
I also found out why my tank was so bad, I had meduim armor reppers on a domi.
I don't think I should be allowed to fit ships.

And Haloguy, what do I use to open the file for the overview tabs?
Place it in my documents/eve/overview.
oh I guess they can very very slowly start tractor beaming wrecks one at at ime
Destroyers are great for salvaging, because they have a large cargo bay. That way, you don't need to fly back and forth from the station over and over.

Salvage takes up hardly ANY space at all.
I salvaged a good 5 or 6 missions and didn't fill up 50m3 of space..

Loot.
Need some space for that y'know.

Yarr, right on the head.
Salvaging may pay very good, but it's boring as all hell.
All i do is set my overlay to 'Salvaging' so that i can only see wrecks, and open up a webpage. Done salvaing a wreck, move to the next and continue surfing the web.
Lowsec sansha invasions = t2 frigs poppin left and right, get a fast t1 frig and salvage that free stuff
I never understood those live sansha invasions, it happened in a highsec system I was passing through and there was purple writing in local and people responding but it was like EVE was real life or something and it was awkward (and laggy)
In regards to destroyer as good salvage ship, here is my stance:
Marauder > destroyer
end of story
So me and my alliance were moving to a WH today.
These 2 dudes popped in, and we blasted them. One dude exploded, the other EJECTED from his ship and we stole it.
Hell yeah.
"LtCommander Tarkin"??
I logged in once to add skills, so it was not I.

EVE is a MMORPG.

I always wanted to dabble in RP, but can't find any good corps.

But you're a spaceship, how would that work

sorry, you ARE the spaceship p much

"yah so i ejected in my pod from my thorax class starship to enter the station in the jita system i desperately needed to take a wizz, im back now though"
"im shot badies"
"senshes ar inveding ples hjelpe"

It was just awkward listening to them in local

"we have defeated the evil sansha minions!!!!"
I don't play WoW I don't want to see idiots pretend they're elves (or spaceships) and embarrass themselves
EVE RP is p. good actually. Except for the fact that 90% of non-RPers look at RPers like idiots. And they usually suck at PVP, minus a few corporations/alliances.
Recon IV in training. Can't wait to test out my Rook. :c00l:
Just did my first major fleet op in 0.0 space. I was in a fleet of 24 ships (mostly battlecruisers, battleships, and scouts), flying a Drake. We putted around for three hours with no luck finding targets, but on the way home we ran into an equally sized enemy fleet! It was a massacre. We lost a few ships, three or four, but they lost almost twenty! I personally laid the finishing blows (and majority of damage) on two Myrmidons, and dealt a significant percentage of hurt to a Scorpion.
It was really outrageously unspeakably awesome. The only time I was ever in a 0.0 fleet before was as part of a frigate/cruiser gang of about fifteen, and that time I was on the receiving end of the massacre. Being on the right side of the missiles is pretty damn exhilarating, yo.
of the tengu, nighthawk, and drake, which is the most efficient at running level 4s
I really like cruiser/bc hulls but I would like to make some money in l4s.

I ran Level 4's in a Drake without any difficulty. Those things have incredible passive shield tanking. However, while survivability wasn't much of an issue, offensive ability certainly was. The DPS was quite low, and soloing through Level 4's took zen-like patience.
I can't speak for the other two, unfortunately. The Drake is perfectly capable of surviving level 4 missions, but you might want to have a book handy.
Well, actually, I know for a fact that the tengu is miles better than the drake, but i'm not entirely sure on the cost effectiveness. I know Tarkin lost his in a mission this week and pretty much undid an entire summer of missioning.
I'm particularly interested in the nighthawk but it seems you can either fit it like an expensive drake or a shitty tengu.
edit: scratch that, the nighthawk takes quite a bit longer to train than the tengu, and for little to no benefit as far as level 4s go.
I realize that command ships have a purpose outside of missioning, but for my purposes I think a tengu would be best if I can manage to afford it and not lose it.

I'm going to vote for the Tengu, I've been in missions with someone that's been flying one and they just turn the mission to dust.

For a extended trial, you can send three out every month right?
If I'm not misunderstanding add me to that list then.
Place it in my documents/eve/overview.
Yeah but what do I OPEN it with.
Yeah, combat probes.

I did, and it said to filter for battleships and all that. Don't know how to do it.
