Notch is a pretty cool guy as a person. Yeah he got lazy with Minecraft, but now Jeb and Jon are developing Minecraft and they're doing a good job so stop crying over spilled milk. He is offering to fund a game for a different company and asking for no creative input at all, I think we can stop hating on him because he took some vacations now.

Oh wait, wrong quote. I think it's the exploration/building aspect. I mean. We have 3 diverse dimensions now? Add some NPC interaction and copy-paste Skyrims Radiant-quest system and you've pretty much got the deepest RPG ever and the most expansive one since Daggerfall.
Personally, if it was my project, i'd add a ton of lore to the setting and then just let people take a crack at it. Imagine you building a tavern only for NPC's to come by for an ale and so on.
I know i'm being borderline retarded here, but imagine the salespitch. "A creative RPG with questing on your premises." don't like a tavern? Combust it with combustible lemons and build a new one or just walk off into the sunset. yeah, i'm dreamy.

Fuck, I still have to finish Psychonauts 1. I bought it a while ago, played it, loved it, but for some reason I stopped playing halfway through AND I CAN'T REMEMBER WHY!

I want to believe.
My theory is that Notch still has the mentality of a small-time indie dev while being a big-time multimillionaire. This is both good and bad. The bad part is that he doesn't have that much devotion and is lazy at times. The good part is that he cares a lot about his fans and is playful enough to throw his fat stacks of money to whatever cause he likes, like for instance how he's donated several thousands of dollars to the Humble Bundles or how he here gives loadsadosh to a developer because he wants a game to be made.
The good thing is that he realized the Minecraft development stagnated and gave the job to a more devoted dev who can give the game the polish it deserves. So now everything is fine and people still hate Notch and the whole of Mojang for some reason.
