I thought the fundraising thing was for a new point and click adventure game, not Psychonauts 2...
It is. But since potential Psychonauts funding was announced pretty much the day before the new adventure game was, here's as good a place as any.
The day counter just dropped to 32. Barely made it in 24 hours. [editline]9th February 2012[/editline] Double Fine right now:
Hey look it's that guy from the video in front

If Notch can get Psychonauts 2 and another Day of the Tentacle, he becomes a god. Well, a demigod at least.
Oh and if anyone is keeping count, Ron Gilbert also has ANOTHER point & click game he's working on, so that's two this year. Great news for LucasArts fans of old.
Ron Gilbert mentioned that the budget of Monkey Island was 135,000 dollars. food for thought
Okay, thanks for clarifying. I was just worried that you all had gone insane with Psychonauts fever and were thinking every little thing was about Psychonauts 2. I really hope in the second, they go more into Lili and Raz's friendship/relationship. I didn't actually realize they liked each other until pretty much endgame.

I'm just hoping for some freaky mental world shit and cool powers. As well as TMEG's trademark awesome writing, characters, and music. Maybe some real-world psychic anti-terrorism. Really, there's tons of directions they could go with the game.
On that picture of the group. The guy just above the head at the very bottom. I SWEAR I know that guy. I swear to anything I own I know that guy and meet him once in a bar.
I wonder if i pledged a Million if i could get a plaster molding of Tim Schafers penis. You know. For reasons.

Sometimes the plot is horrible but romances nice, so it's the only thing keeping me from stopping. But I don't really think Psychonauts needs too much of that. Or even should have. It was always the little details, weirld worlds/minds and great humor and dialogue that made me think of Psychonauts being one of the best games I've played.
It's always Notch
Some woman in Germany put in $25,000.
If Notch can get Psychonauts 2 and another Day of the Tentacle, he becomes a god.
Time for Tim to take out those RTS elements, then!
Damn.
I'd like to have all the kids from the camp back in Psychonauts 2. And you can enter their mind through that door you "borrow" from Nein.
Everything Notch touches turns to shitblocks.
Everything Notch touches turns to shitblocks.
Well at least he's not touching it. Just possibly funding it.
Why do people think he's going to be involved in development? He offered to fund it, not make it.
Jesus Christ what is with the Notch hate? Minecraft is fun.
I want to actually go into the minds of some of the other kids. It'd be really neat if near the end you have to go into Ford Cruller's mind and it's a complete clusterfuck and you have to sort it all out so that he can help you.
because notch spend half of last year vacationing and not actually working on updates not to mention he dropped the weekly updating process
That doesn't answer the fact that people say, "If he touches X game it will be shit."
http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/02/10/vg247-editor-promises-to-eat-own-trousers-on-film-if-mojang-funded-psychonauts-2-happens/
Here's hoping this guy ends up eating his words
because notch spend half of last year vacationing and not actually working on updates not to mention he dropped the weekly updating process
I remember a chart that showed Notch took only as many vacation days as it would have been if he took every weekend off. So, honestly, don't act so self-entitled to updates.
manly tears are being shed :') [editline]11th February 2012[/editline] holy fuck it's 1,4 million now
That doesn't answer the fact that people say, "If he touches X game it will be shit."
Notch didn't develop Minecraft properly, he didn't have the experience or the technical skill to realize its potential. For example, deepening the level and scale of player interaction in multiplayer would have been infinitely more effective than focusing development on singleplayer features and porting them over to multiplayer. The platform is very limited, so why not rely on your most valuable asset: the player? A simple capture-the-flag or siege mode would have improved Minecraft's replayability a-hundred-fold; because you're enabling the player to interact with the parts of the world that matter - the part he creates. But that's not the point of this thread, the point is that Double Fine is the motherfucking best.
I've never played any game by this developer holy shit what have I been missing
I've never played any game by this developer holy shit what have I been missing
a lot. also the stuff Tim Schafer did when he was part of LucasArts is really good too.
