It's gonna happen sometime soon I tell you now, it's just gotta
Hey, it could of been worse, at least this guy has Oblivion in his Steam account and has recently played it. Rather he win it then someone who has never played an Elder Scrolls game before.
Rather him than a Russian with only free games on his account...
So apparently someone changed their Steam name to match the winner and scammed the gift...
So apparently someone changed their Steam name to match the winner and scammed the gift...
You are correct. http://steamcommunity.com/id/gibddeshnik He changed his name and avatar to that of the winner, and scammed Skyrim from the gifter. I want him dead. He did this to two other people today. Edit: The submitter is buying a second copy for the actual winner. That is a solid person, and deserves to win the lottery. This scammer needs to die, however.
wow what the fuck seriously?
... and he's russian. No suprise there.

Wow holy shit, that's a massive dick move. Like god damn.
Edit: The submitter is buying a second copy for the actual winner. That is a solid person, and deserves to win the lottery.
That's solid, but can't he cancel the other preorder?
What an asshole. Be right back, trying that right now.
That's fucken terrible, I hope Steam support can revoke the gift. Hope he gets hit by a car.
if the buyer contacts steam support he can revoke his purchase for that russian. [editline]16th August 2011[/editline] oh yea and who called out the russians on this site before??? me???
Just look at his profile. 379/379 TF2 achievements in 12h, 67/67 L4D achievements in 27h Idiot
Where is Ridlas? Cancel the pre-order from that jerk now!
By the way Ridas, if you payed by PayPal don't dispute it, your account will just get suspended.
I can't get over how much of an asshole that guy must be.

In case he decides to change his steam id name:
steamID: SealingJet34 steamID32: STEAM_0:0:28026068 steamID64: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198016317864 customURL: http://steamcommunity.com/id/gibddeshnik steamrepURL: http://www.steamrep.com/index.php?id=76561198016317864
I'm just going to say, never have the gift winner add you and claim it. Always add them or send it to their email. I learned this from the TF2 raffle threads when people did the same thing.
Everybody report him on steam! He is obviously a huge ass dick cheater since all achievements unlocked and gold-camo on his guns in Black ops etc.
The winner also received his gift. http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197970731915/games?tab=all I'm glad to know the hoster was kind enough to go out of his way and buy it again for him. Really nice of him. Now he needs to revoke the other gift he sent.
I can't believe it actually happened. Here we are saying "at least a Russian scammer didn't whin" he look what happened.
He has been scamming people all day. I hope he realizes he won't get any of the property. http://steamcommunity.com/id/gibddeshnik/namehistory
Reported profile for user misconduct. I'm obviously not going to be the only one doing this so chances are that Valve support will take notice.
Reported profile for user misconduct. I'm obviously not going to be the only one doing this so chances are that Valve support will take notice.
I reported for cheating and misconduct.
Already suggested it at SteamGifts, but maybe there should be and "Announcement" tab up next to Home and Create a Giveaway links? The Announcement tab would show how many new announcements are made by mods/admins with little number next to it. Suggesting this because probably a lot of people don't know about these kind of stuff (scamming, maybe some news etc) happening if they don't check the forums, so this could ease it up to see what's new or when there's scammer running around. Also, reposting this, in case:
Maybe you have these already, but never can be too sure.
Reported profile for user misconduct. I'm obviously not going to be the only one doing this so chances are that Valve support will take notice.
I reported him too
You just need to login then go to his page guys. Then you can report him all you want. http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198016317864 Btw on the gift page it says he received the game so it's good.
Maybe it would be best for the winner to not be announced until they have claimed their prize. This would seriously stamp down on scammers trying to redeem the prize.
Maybe it would be best for the winner to not be announced until they have claimed their prize.
That would work because if you win you have a green bar in middle of screen stating you have won whenever you visit with unclaimed gift.
And for everyone viewing it will basically be like "The winner has been chosen! The winner will be announced publicly when they redeem his/her prize".
