The Dirt 3 leak is worse than the PS3 hacking, there actually was no hacking since the keys were easily accessible to everyone with an internet connection. That's how much they fucked up. With the huge inflation it's no wonder why I regenerate 200 points every 9 hours now.

Those are leaked keys. I'm not sure using one like that is legal. I know that Valve is looking into it right now though. You never know, it may get your account suspended. What's the real kicker here is that you have no proof you added a legitimate key, so you might have a hard time getting your account un-suspended (if it does get suspended).

That's the thing, they won't be able to save and minimize the mess created. Valve will comply and help AMD out, but there's no way they will be able to distinguish between false and legitimate customers since the codes come from the ATI cards themselves.
Worst case scenario is that they remove the game from your account, and for those who got it the real way will need to contact Steam support with their ATI receipt. Right now it's already too big of a mess to clean up.

About the Dirt 3 thing, the same thing happened with Metro 2033 a while ago. There was no way to determine who got it legitimately and who didn't, because the keys came from the same list. They decided "Oh well, fuck it" and did nothing. And that is why I own Metro 2033.

Except the keys on those lists aren't the Steam keys. Those are the AMD keys you use to get the Steam Keys from [URL="http://amd4u.com/dirt3promo/"]AMD's promo site[/URL].
Well if they disable Steam account there's no big deal, because the game uses GFWL, not Steam. If they won't disable my GFWL account for using one of those keys then I'm definitely activating one of them on a separate Steam account.
