The point is that nobody knows this jackass. In all likelihood, his first post will be the last one. He'll be on Steamgifts reducing everyone's probability of winning (albeit slightly at first) and spamming codes to other jackasses, and the process begins anew. People used to bemoan 1,000 person giveaways, now 1500+ entries are the norm.
How many of these people do you think will offer up their own giveaway?
How many fake giveaways do you need to "win" to realize indiscriminately inviting people is bad?
How many members will it take before the odds of winning a game drop into the hundredths of percentile (it's currently .2% that an entry will win)?
In the end, I don't really care; I give stuff away in the Facepunch groups exclusively, and I've been lucky to have met and talked to some cool people who appreciate the gifts. That's all that really matters to me. I enter drawings for stuff I'm interested in but don't worry too much about it. As long as we keep a close-knit group in the Steam community, I'll keep giving shit away.
Blame the guys who post the codes here, not the ones who use them.
