It's safe to say I know a thing or two about gifting :downs:
Nope.
Gifter can email it to himself, and post the link into Steamgifts.
I've sent plenty of gifts myself, and there have been gift giveaway threads on Steam Forums using this very method of posting the gift URL.

Yes I know, but it is ridiculous to ask the gifters to do this. The current method works just fine, I don't get what your problem with it is. Also, this wouldn't work for extra copy's people might have, like, half of the gifts on there. It makes no sense implementing such a thing when it doesn't add any benefit for anyone.

This method would work better, it makes it easier for the poster and doesn't affect the receiver.
The poster can make the giveaway and then be done with management, without having to come back when the giveaway is over and manually send out the gift to the winner.
It would make perfect sense to implement this feature, especially in situations like this when the server goes down, so the poster doesn't need to wait until it comes up to finish the transaction... it can do it automatically when it is functioning.
I fail to see any negative aspect to this, only good things can come from it.
Stupid site still down
Stupid site still down
What doesn't help is that quite a lot of people are tapping refresh on the page, lol.

Well you can't blame me for wanting to know if I finally won something out of 50 entries

Sending a gift take like two seconds, and we don't know why the site is down right now, for all we know the whole server complex exploded and all data could be gone.
As long as it's not mandatory, okay. But I still don't like the idea of handing over the gifting to a third party. The gifters should be in controll all the way trough.

Haha, not at all.
I want to know if I won Terraria, dying to play that game.
You obviously have never send a gift before...
This is the gift screen:

The only person getting that gift url, is the person you email the gift to. The gifter himself does not get to see the gift url.

Quit trying to find reasons to flash your money.
Sending a gift take like two seconds,
Yes, but then the gifter either has to schedule his time around when the giveaway ends or the winner will have to wait.
My method the gifter is free to continue along his day and the winner is not affected at all.
I say it should be mandatory, the field could be checked for the gift url format so people don't put CD keys in and risk people getting their account disabled...
But this is not my decision.
Quit trying to find reasons to flash your money.
Actually, half of that is friends that couldn't purchase things online, or people that lived in a country where the games they wanted were restricted (eg germany) :v:

redBadger is best Badger.
Even though I don't know what that means.
You're just impatient :v:
That is true, but why wait if this system will make it so you don't have to?

That's the chrome extension he is referring to, I do believe.
Not sure how legit that specific one is, so proceed with caution.
I seriously never understood how githum worked.

"be back soon"
:v:
Site is now up :).
The site seems to be down, so I may have to re-create my invite thing.
Its getting so frustrating to win absolutely nothing at all.
The RUSE giveaway (25 copies) ended. Nohj won.
Did we ever find the winner for Terraria? Or is it still in the air? :O
EDIT: Fuck it, I didn't win, it's back up. :(
Will continue trying, going to post some giveaways of my own when I get some cash.
