You join, and earn points for every contest started. A contest for a game of $10, gives every member 1 point.
You spend the points to enter the drawings. So I enter a drawing for a game that costs $25, so it cost me 25 points to enter.
Think of the points like money. You are spending 25 points for a chance to win a game that costs $25.
The only person who actually has to spend money, is the person who started the drawing. They are the ones who either have left-over game gifts, a code, or are going to buy the game as a gift for the winner.
