Is there any way at all to order a specific item to be placed in a specific tile? What if I want a legendary mug in someone's room? It's impossible to move an individual object, as far as I've seen!

If the wrong mug is placed in the stockpile in the room just dump it and continue doing that until the right mug is in the stockpile, then forbid it so noone will touch it again and you can remove the stockpile. Remember to allow mugs in the regular stockpile again and reclaim the dumped mugs.
I wish DF looked like that.
I don't.
In my previous fortress I hid my artifact steel platemail in a secret room, to get to it you have to throw yourself in a pool found deep in the mines, then swim until you reach a stair that leads up to land and find your way through a long maze that leads to the artifact and some lesser treasures, then you pull a lever and a floodgate opens that leads back to the mines. I haven't actually tried adventure mode yet so I don't know if it works and if you can throw yourself in the pool, but it was fun building it.
I don't.
Me neither.
fucking shit dwarf fortress, I embarked and had taken 2 farmers with me for the first time ever cause I was tired of it taking forever to get food supplies up and running, dwarf fortress wasn't having that though and decided that I should embark right next to a lake, my spare farmer started IN the lake and drowned, FFS

That same fortress had probelms with all the water freezing in winter, so I dug tunnels around to all the lakes on the map and drained every single lake into one big underground reservoir
I found a nice site with no aquifers and decent other attributes. In other news, The Ultimate Graphics Pack.
Is that actual size? I messed around in my config for like 20 minutes trying to get the dwarves to be bigger but for some reason on my screen they're tiny.
If you want lager tiles just change the screen size. If you want to see more tiles on screen at once change the grid size. These are best done together for best results. some distortion due to stretching may occur.
To the person who said earlier that he/she couldn't play on anything but their laptop with Mayday: You can adjust the tile size and use a smaller resolution.

NVM Guys I built my fort way too far.
NVM Guys I built my fort way too far.
What the fuck are you talking about? I am assuming you edited out your original question.
What the fuck are you talking about? I am assuming you edited out your original question.
Your assumption is correct
I think that my save is corrupted. Losing is fun, but not like this. D:
I think that my save is corrupted. Losing is fun, but not like this. D:
It's rare but it can happen, yeah. A good way is to copy the save folder somewhere else every year.
It's rare but it can happen, yeah. A good way is to copy the save folder somewhere else every year.
Thanks. I'm trying for an outdoor fortress of only wood, now. :/
As I posted before I got attacked by orcs on my first siege when I didn't have the orc mod installed. I ended up trapping all but three in a pit I made but the other three killed everyone
Add me to the list, DF is fun.

Something like that happened to my underwater fort, I had a 1 tile wide hole in the middle of my meeting hall where I placed my well, but due to the water source being almost 10 Z levels up, the pressure built up in the well and it kinda 'exploded' drowning around 30 Dwarves.
Just curious, but does a well actually use up the water underneath it?
Just curious, but does a well actually use up the water underneath it?
Yes, 1 bucket = 1/7 water
Yes, 1 bucket = 1/7 water
Okay.
Fuck, I forgot how to move up and down levels. What buttons were they again?
