A few months ago I tried to learn to play this. I got to the stage where I could [I]survive[/I] but I had nothing interesting to do whatsoever. Then I got bored. [editline]11:22AM[/editline] I figured this would be a good place to ask; I played NetHack a bit lately but I can't get deeper than a few levels no matter what I do, so I wanted to try a different roguelike. What would you lot suggest (other than Dwarf Fortress; I played it in the past and it went over my head)?

It's quite good, but I don't remember the exact name.

I'm really no graphics fetishist, I love retro games and I play lots of indie games, but if a game's graphics are so bad that you can't even see what's happening I'm not sure if I could play it. Yet again I am going to try and revive the bloodline (a fortress where each player plays for a set amount of time [normally 1 game year] then letting another player continue the game). It is using version 0.23.130.23a (the last of the 2d versions). Is anyone else interested in joining it?
