I like the latter.
Thanks, I made both of those
I accidently made an elven outpost Liason fall into a hole :v: He will soon drown :v:
My Legendary miner survived like a whole summer in a lake.
Badass.
Totally badass [editline]10:45AM[/editline] Any news on when update is coming?
My Legendary miner survived like a whole summer in a lake.
Awww :( That stupid elf might survive long down there then :saddowns:
I love the freezing cold. It makes the place all flat and stuff.
Oh god. One of my dwarf's got a strange mood.. He made an artifact. Behold Ngárakakir... THE MAGNETITE MUG!
Hoyl fuch. Build a chest and stick all of your legendary items in there
Hoyl fuch. Build a chest and stick all of your legendary items in there
I think I'll do that :v: But seriously. A cup?
Which one is the latest DF version? On the bay12 site it says " posted September 6, 2008", while on the May Greens tileset site says "updated 21 V 2009"
I think I'll do that :v: But seriously. A cup?
I fucking told you :v:
Yeah, it's a real DF artifact the picture was made of. Although usually they're more like this.

I made a water tower that pumps water from the brook/river about 6 z levels high and then drops it into another building with drainage grates as the floor to use as a shower, dwarves love waterfalls http://mkv25.net/dfma/movie-1016-artificialwaterfall Alternatively, make awesome defenses such as a ballista firing down a narrow corridor to fuck up elven caravans, skewering their donkey with the bolt while you are at it, sending the donkey flying about 8 tiles backwards http://mkv25.net/dfma/movie-1006-elveseatingwood
I love the ballista one. Hey guys let's tra*thump* Especially how the animal gets thrown back for ages.

If you want the titleset, get Green's version - if not, get the Bay12 version.
Totally badass [editline]10:45AM[/editline] Any news on when update is coming?
I think he'll either release an unfinished build in a few weeks/months, or wait until christmas or something with the finished thing.
Is this top-down or side-scroller?
Which one is the latest DF version? On the bay12 site it says " posted September 6, 2008", while on the May Greens tileset site says "updated 21 V 2009"
The bay12 site only lists "major" releases, and 40d is the latest major release. The latest Mayday release is using 40d11, the 40d## series are identical to plain 40d except that they use entirely different rendering code, so if you have a good graphics card, you're going to get a fair bit better performance out of the 40d## versions. The latest 40d## version is 40d12, and can be found in This thread on the bay12games forums. It includes dynamic window resizing and zooming (:D) using the mousewheel, but it's a little unstable and not really worth the hassle. I'd recommend sticking with 40d if you have no problems, and trying 40d11 if you want to see if the graphics optimizations work for you. If you want the absolute latest thing, you can try 40d12, but I'd recommend waiting for 40d13 or something a little more refined(zooming-wise) instead. Bold :v:
Goblin ambush just wiped out my whole fort. My 3 wrestlers tried to take them on, charging full strength. Only to be met with an ungodly amount of arrows.
Is this top-down or side-scroller?
It's top-down. A tileset might help if the ASCII is confusing you that much :P [editline]07:42AM[/editline] Damnit, you broke my automerge.
Ah thanks both of you. I was playing on d11. [editline]11:44AM[/editline]
Goblin ambush just wiped out my whole fort. My 3 wrestlers tried to take them on, charging full strength. Only to be met with an ungodly amount of arrows.
Did you make all your dwarf recruits?
No, should I? I thought 3 champions would of been enough.
No, I mean as a last resort I use to make all my dwarfs recruits so that they also can help the soldiers fight :v:
I was too shocked, they just swept in and murdered everything.
All my dwarfs just died :saddowns: Of starvation :v: Apparantly, I did not have enough farms, and I concentrated a bit too much on a channel I was digging.
Tip: do not use wrestlers. they tear each other's clothes off which is a nuisance because it leaves a cluttered training area and your soldiers walk around half geared up. The only half decent thing they can do is twist an arrow that is stuck in an enemy, but they might as well just use a sword

Do babies do gore or blunt damage?
Do babies do gore or blunt damage?
That question sounds so horribly wrong yet so dwarfy.
Okay, found my old files. What I need now is a goal to keep me playing. Like some sort of mega contruction. Playing Dwarf Fortress just for the sake of having a fortress is not enough to keep me playing. Any ideas?

I'm afraid that the fire breathing zombies and steel hard orcs will kill my dwarves. :frown: But alright. I'll just think of something to do as I go. Last time I made a pit that went down 11 stories and ended in a lava pit. I liked putting depots on the top.
Well then, your question of what you should make your goal to be is rather obvious. You should make your goal to survive these fire breathing zombies and steel hard orcs.
