I have 76 grams now. I forgot to mark the star. I've landed on one planet, and it was just flat, wit occasional rocks. Some were white, some grey. Are most like that, or was that one just boring? Edit: Also, with life... How does that work?
Noctis is such a great game, can't wait for Noctis V.
Last post in the FAQ thread was in two thousand and fucking SIX. Does anybody know if the programmer is still working on it at all?
Last post in the FAQ thread was in two thousand and fucking SIX. Does anybody know if the programmer is still working on it at all?
I know nothing about this. I just know that it's fuckwin and i've been playing for an hour.
Last post in the FAQ thread was in two thousand and fucking SIX. Not to mention all the real-life things that get in the way. He does programming as a side hobby, not a job.

More habitable planets are in S01 or S00 stars. Felician planets usually have life. Oxygen planets have usually life. Or atleast oceans. Remember stars like our sol are usually very habitable. But it takes time to find animal life. Sometimes life doesn't seem to be in habitable planet but life is there. You just need to find it. Usually you find it in second time on the planet.
Is there a way to play this in a way that doesn't make my brain bleed? ie Higher resolution? Even 640 would do me.
I played Noctis, but the resolution and the god awful controls (why the fuck couldn't he make the mouse pointer go in EVERY direction) turned me of it.
Is there a way to play this in a way that doesn't make my brain bleed? ie Higher resolution? Even 640 would do me.
You and me both man.
That's what i tought too. But it's not going to be untill Noctis V. Here is screens of up coming Noctis V:
Alex (the only developer of the game) said along time ago that the engine he took those screenshots with has been scraped, Noctis V is back to just being a bunch of code with no engine yet. And yes there's only ONE guy working on the game, and he doesn't want any help, that is one of the reasons it's taking so long to finish, the other is that for him making this game is like a hobby and real life is always kicking him in the nuts(A guy has to work right?)
It's a shame really, this could get popular if it would be done properly (320*240 resolution just doesn't cut it for most people)
what's the point of having a game where all you can do is look at the pretty places, when the graphics suck?
A month or 2 ago he said he was still working on it It's not just noctis V he's working on, he's making an entire new programming language (linoleum) to write it in, which means he has to change noctis to suit linoleum a lot and vice-versa. Trust me, Noctis V is vaporware, it's not gonna come out. One guy working on an entire programming language and supposidly creating a whole universe from it? It's just not going to happen and get released in any releasable fasion. And it's been like this for 3-6 years on running now. I mean hell, Black Mesa has a higher release chance along with DNF than this game does. I'm not trying to say his work sucks and it's not going anywhere, but I'm just saying what he might be doing (if he is even working on it at all) is too ambitious to ever be released in a reasonable state. Edit:
what's the point of having a game where all you can do is look at the pretty places, when the graphics suck?
Some of us have imaginations and a sense of discovery. Others do not. That's like asking why people enjoy flight simulators, or hobbies.
what's the point of having a game where all you can do is look at the pretty places, when the graphics suck?
Use your fucking imagination! But anyway it's fun to see multiple environments and places.
what's the point of having a game where all you can do is look at the pretty places, when the graphics suck?
Imagination? Sense of discovery? The fact that the entire game is in first person?
It is saying I don't have enough memory for any of the versions. Any ideas? EDIT:
what's the point of having a game where all you can do is look at the pretty places, when the graphics suck?
You're one of those... those console gamers, aren't you?
Use your fucking imagination!
If I'm gonna do that, what use is the game? I can just imagine going to weird places.
Yep, your one of those kids who grew up in a generation where the graphics were great so therefore all games must choose graphics over gameplay and if you don't shoot somebody every five seconds it sucks.
Awww, online play would be so epic. I could just imagine exploring some remote areas and land on a planet and see someone and be like "Oh...Hey."
You do realize how incredibly unlikely it would be that you would find another player without some special tool? It's like one in a billion chance. The game is an entire galaxy, with fully explorable planets. Hell, with 5000 players on only one planet there's a good chance you'd only see a couple players.
Which would make it all the more amazing, and you would never want to leave the players side. :)
Yep, your one of those kids who grew up in a generation where the graphics were great so therefore all games must choose graphics over gameplay and if you don't shoot somebody every five seconds it sucks.
First game I ever played was Wolfenstein 3D and I love games where you can don't have to kill anything and can just trade and build stuff.
sp00ks if you don't like this game stop posting here you idiot. We don't need anyone here to flame the game.
When I'm on a surface, when I press a button some command prompt pops up. I can'tt ape pictures on a surface, or do anything other than move. Is there a way to fix this? I found some pretty neat life forms and want to photograph them, but it won't let me.
Is there a way to play this in a way that doesn't make my brain bleed? ie Higher resolution? Even 640 would do me.
It's a limitation with DOS if I recall correctly
So, I still "do not have enough free conventional memory." What should I do? I am running 32bit Vista.
One guy working on an entire programming language and supposidly creating a whole universe from it?
It's not like he makes a full-sized galaxy by hand. Almost all of Noctis IV is pseudo-randomly generated, noctis V will be the same way, just the code handling the random generation should produce more realistic results Edit:
So, I still "do not have enough free conventional memory." What should I do? I am running 32bit Vista.
I think that's a vista issue There's a beta of noctis IV CE on the official forums somewhere that has proper 32bit support, I'll see if I can't find it EDIT: try the files posted in this thread http://www.anywherebb.com/postline/posts.php?t=3451 Because of the way the forums work you may have to open download links in a new window/tab
Thanks, but I get "Sorry, deze pagina bestaat niet." for everything I try to download.
Okay, first person to tell me how to get Noctis running on Vista wins.
where the FUCK is my noctis v
The reason for the delay is that Fottifoh (the author) wanted to write his own programming language (l.in.oleum) to write Noctis V with. He's been developing for years, yes, but he announced last May that he was almost done with l.in.oleum. I honestly don't think that Noctis V is vaporware, it's just that Fottifoh has a full-time job as a programmer so he's really only been working on Noctis (and his other projects) in his spare time.

Isn't Vegastrike better? i'll try that if i'll decide it's not difficult to play
