Yeah, the framework is capable of creating a true role-playing environment, but since no one except Conna and one or two people who paid hundreds of dollars for the script can create new schemas and modify the framework, we'll never see anything but HL2 RP.
Perhaps not, but you should know that the framework itself is free; kuromeku gives it out to anyone that approaches him. It is only the schemas that are paid for, to my knowledge. His new schema Novus Atrox (http://RoleplayUnion.com) is a step in the right direction; definitatly a move forward from the complexity of his HL2 RP schema...
I've been playing pen-and-paper role-playing games for over a year now, yet I can still appreciate the quality of some of the role-playing scripts available for Garry's Mod. Conna's scripts just isn't one of them.
I'm shocked to see how you can say that Conna's framework isn't of a high quality; it's so well structured and optimised and easy to modify that I'd put it way up there with the best. I personally think you have some kind of grudge with him that is blinding you from the truth, or making you slightly bias. The script itself is so detailed, it has a nice interface; an easy to use plugin system and a ton of useful features which can all be enabled or disabled at any time to please your desired level of complexity.
Do not judge the framework on deliberatly complex schemas that you have seen such as Half-Life 2 roleplay, when the framework itself is so amazing and well-coded. Perhaps you should find him on Steam and ask him for a copy of the framework so you can see for yourself, I'm sure he'd be glad to give you a copy. Though note, that the framework itself cannot be run without a schema - he only gives it out for development and educational purposes.
Fun fact! The "Vision" fellow, who made the steam support ticket, is thirteen years old, and a furry.
Seems you guys just want to get money out of this, or jack your e-penises with it.
Also, according to the OP, Valve is already suing Kuro. That is not true. Their steam support ticket has not even been replied to yet.
I used to be really anti-commercialism, until I realized something: nobody is obligated to make shit for you, and if they're not financially motivated, there's a good chance they'll decide to do something else instead. It was a harsh realization, because I realized I was being stupid.
To say that anyone has to choose between either offering you something for free, or offering nothing at all, is bullshit.
Source SDK projects may not be sold because the Source SDK is basically a bunch of tools & a bunch of Valve code. Of course you can't sell that. This is something different.

He's on my friendlist.
Also, as idiotic as Ordnas' posts in this thread seem, they are actually quiet intellectual.
They sum up this entire immature situation quiet well.

I don't know... he might give you like a base schema or something; I dunno how that works. I heard he's working on a skeleton schema for developers but I haven't heard any news on that, you should find him on Steam for more information.
No one would of gotten it in the first place if they knew he could use backdoors to get into their server.
So, logical reason is: He doesn't tell people about the backdoors until he actually uses them.
He is using Valves map making programs, their items and textures, and their game, to make money.
Doesn't that give Valve and those affiliated with Valve to get cash from Kuro? And also doesn't he need permission from Valve *Not saying he does (not)* if he's selling the gamemode?

Maps are pretty much freely distributed when a player joins the server that's hosting it, so I doubt the map itself counts as included in the price.
And now that I think about it, you're not allowed to sell mods for the Source engine without licensing it with Valve. I'm not an expert on Valve's licensing so I wouldn't know if this applies, but logically the same should apply for selling mods for a mod. The licenses surely cover the usage of the engine alone, and Garry's Mod Lua is pretty much just an alternative way of using the Source Engine.
Although I still don't think Valve would give a fuck.
This guy is a faggot indeed.

1. Kuro only sells the gamemode, not the maps.
2. Garrysmod doesn't have a set usage policy.
3. Valve didn't make Garrysmod.
Well the law cant necessarily stop him from selling. But it doesn't protect him either. So his LUA coding is actually Shareware because it is not patented nor can it be. So one person just need to crack it and he is out of the business.

agree
Did anyone read anything I previously typed in, or just keywords in it?
ITT: Butthurt 13 year old furrys that are jealous of kuro because 1. He's done something to them. 2. They're jealous cuz they aint gettin the money
While asking for money for lua code sounds pretty greedy and stupid, the guy has done nothing wrong.
Get over it.
