Nah it pisses everyone off. We can see your name on the side anyway, so its just a waste of precious energy.
I don't know why that seems to be frowned upon.
Ive seen it as a reason to get banned, and i believe TH89 said that "We can see your name anyway, so its useless"
Ive seen it as a reason to get banned, and i believe TH89 said that "We can see your name anyway, so its useless"
It probably is. As said, I'm sorry :) However back on topic:
It's got control issues aswell. The steering in Forza is hideously unresponsive. And it's easy to see why when you drive from the cockpit camera. If you push the stick to full right lock, the game slowly turns the steering wheel to the right. It's as though it's trying to artificially make your driving smooth. Fuck off, let me learn to drive smoothly or crash trying.
Smooth driving is not an issue and I do have explanation for the "slow steering wheel movement" aswell: I have not seen a game where, when you push the stick to full right (or left) the drivers hands (in cockpit view) would actually move realisticly (letting go of the steering wheel with one hand and grabbing it further to prevent hands "locking" in to each other). This is probably due to how hard it would be to animate. Now then, almost every normal car (even the sport ones) has a steering which requires you to turn the wheel atleast one full cycle to lock the tires in "absolute" position to the side of your choosing. Now this takes time even if you are Michael Schumacher. I think around 1 second or abit more? If you want to time it I bet it takes about one and a half seconds to do this in Forza also. But of course as explained above, there's no way to make a fancy animation for this so every car has "fast steering" in Forza (and in GT5). Cars which really have fast steering do steer alot quicker (R3 - R1 classes)
I'll tell you when I've played GT5.
Live for Speed has full wheel steering animation :D
Live for Speed has full wheel steering animation :D
Damn :P Well there's a realistic game for you.

Forza 3 features speed sensitive steering, which prevents you from steering harder than the car can turn, rather than grind your front tires away trying to steer harder than you can. So we're rarely talking about going to full left/right lock. At high speed, it may only let you steer the wheel 20 degrees, which is fine, but it takes too long to do so.
Forza has always been the better simulator. Why the fuck would you rate me boxes? Forza kicks GTs shit as a sim and as a racer. If you want "professionals" input then check MC since obviously I'm a fucking idiot.
Would you just calm down and shut the fuck up. It's not like your opinion is a fucking scientific fact. People have different tastes, you know? In my opinion, Forza is an arcade game that tries to be a simulator, but fails miserably. I mean, just look at this shit for example. I'm not saying GT is completely realistic either, but at least it's a tad bit less arcadey than the Forza games.
Kind of unfair to compare them; Forza Motorsport 3 came out in October 2009, and Grand Turismo is coming out over a year later in November 2010. GT5 has way more cars and depth, but Forza 3 has an amazing car painter, and in my opinion better looking graphics; the graphics in GT5 just seem so plain and dull despite their extreme high quality. I prefer Forza's interface over GT5's, and I prefer the Xbox controller for racing over the PS3's controller. Voted Forza.

Kind of unfair to compare them; Forza Motorsport 3 came out in October 2009, and Grand Turismo is coming out over a year later in November 2010.

and Grand Turismo is coming out over a year later in November 2010

Grand Turismo

Grand

D
:frog:

Also that video you posted, it has "glitch" in the title. Does that really tell you anything about the realism? I bet Microsoft Flight _Simulator_ has glitches. Also I owe you 10€ if I don't find a single "GT5 Glitch" video from youtube within a week of the release. That seems quite realistic to me. I'm not going to say I know how Toyota GT1 would really behave at Nurburgring though...
I prefer to play Forza on my own but GT I play with friends But I would go for Forza really
Are you kidding? Forza 3 has to be the most realistic driving sim I have ever played. But I guess it's all up to opinion, though.
Wish it had a better damage system.
GT4, amazing.
Wish it had a better damage system.
Yeah, atleast visually. I think the car breaks down good enough, but yeah, it should be abit more visually pleasing. I mean I hate it when you happen to hit a wall at around 200km/h and the only damage you see is a missing bumper, some very minor deformation, broken headlamps and scrapes on the bonnet. I want Flatout 2 damage system (the visual side)
Burnout Paradise's damage system is godlike. Wish more games had that kind of car deformation.
Forza 3 damage = the entire car is doused in paint stripper when you touch a wall [editline]17th November 2010[/editline] also Rigs of Rods has the best damage physics
Well actually the damage system itself is nearly nonexistant, but the way the car just gets all mangled and shit when colliding head on with a pickuptruck, it's just sex to your eyes. [editline]17th November 2010[/editline] my automerge :argh:
Gran Turismo. I haven't tried it out, but I've been playing the series through every version except the PS3 ones (because I haven't got one) and it's been amazing.
GT, still remember playing the second, I think, with my dad.
