The Cell does sure as hell NOT do most of the visual processing. It's a normal 3.2Ghz PowerPC and 7(because 1 is disabled) SPEs. It's nowhere near powerful enough to render proper 3D graphics fast enough, that's why GPUs where invented.

I've got a PS3, and I'm pretty annoyed that Valve aren't developing Portal 2 for it. The way I see it, Valve are pretty much turning down free money to not bring out a PS3 version - remember the Xbox, Mac and PC versions [i]will[/i] be pirated; the PS3 still has yet to be cracked to allow pirated games.
I really enjoyed Portal PS3. Yes, playing an FPS-style game is much different on a console than a PC, and it does have some horrible limits (and I speak as someone who used to play twitch shooters on the PC as part of a clan many years ago), but it is possible and once you've got used to it, can be just as much fun as on the PC with a mouse and keyboard. Yes, ultimately it's not a great system, but it's far from unplayable. Modern Warfare 2 was a very good example on how to make an FPS work on a console. Portal worked fantastically because you could take your time. It's not a twitch shooter.
(And, so you know, Unreal Tournament 3 on the PS3 [i]could[/i] be played with a USB mouse and keyboard, and I did it myself. It worked just as well as on the PC. But who's going to use a mouse & keyboard on their coffee table? It's not comfortable.)
I shifted exclusively to console gaming when the PS3 came out in England nearly 3 years ago. I was fed up of finding out that my PC wasn't powerful enough to play the next latest-and-greatest game, and wanted something that wasn't affected by the upgrade cycle. It's great to play an FPS on a PC, but 99% of you are doing it on a desk in the study or whatever. I'm playing my games in my lounge on my huge sofa and big TV and being comfortable while I do it. Sure, you CAN play PC games with a controller with it hooked up to a TV, but how many of you actually do it? If I wanted to sit at a desk in the evenings, I'd stay at work. ;)
Now lets wait and see how the Mac fanboys are gonna act.

Want to tell us how they're any different at all from Achievements? For example, why is the PS3 trophy for smashing all the billboards in Burnout Paradise -- in your eyes -- worse than the Xbox achievement for accomplishing the same thing?
Trophies and achievements are almost exactly the same thing. Sure, the trophies hide the equivalent of a 'gamescore' somewhat, but it's there. You might have a gamerscore of 10500, whereas the PS3 player would have a level 10, 50%. It's the same. The maximum gamerscore points from an xbox game map to the same points when worked out to the bronze, silver and gold trophies on the PS3.
Please explain why they're 'gay'.

Actually the PS3 version of Crysis runs on a shittier engine than the PC version. Visuals are cut down, as well as the field of view.
For any games that I can't get play on PS3 I play on PC, and if my PC can't play them I just don't buy them, I don't see why most people gotta get angry I mean it's not like they are taking your money.
I think that graphics are getting to their best in a few years. Soon PC's will be cheap(er) than they are, and people will ditch the consoles.

Not really, it uses the same graphics API, the same languages and roughly the same syntax. The only real difference in the processor is a PPC and not a x86/ x64.

PS3 has the best CPU, 360 has the best GPU in theory. Though the PS3 CPU is a pain in the ass to program on.
