A lot of PS3 users are pissed off because the OB was on the PS3. But what they don't understand is that Valve had nothing to do with the port on PS3. That was EA's fault.

That's not what pisses us off. It pisses us off that neither of them will take responsibility for it being a load of shit. From what I can tell, all they do is point fingers back and forth over who should be in charge of fixing the damn game and nothing ever gets done.
Valves games are overrated. Not PS3 fanboying' it's just my opinion of course. I have an xbox 360 and PS3. FYI.

Not really. In general terms, Sony does actually offer more variety. Valve gives you First-person shooters and only First-person shooters. Sony gives you FPSs, 3Ps, RPGs, side-scrollers, racers, etc. That said, Valve also provides variety, though it's much more subtle and specific to the game than full-out different genres.
I have to agree with Markntosh. Valve isn't a console, it's an office full of employees that make certain type of range of video games. PS3 S a console with variety.

I still enjoy my ps3, even if it's not "a real gaming machine". I mostly use my PC since it's a lot more powerful but sometimes it's just nice to sit down and play some games splitscreen with your friends and lets not forget some lovely games that are console only. Such as Little Big Planet. Amazing game that I wouldn't want on any other platform.

I would call it a real gaming machine, though I think the PC is equally a real gaming machine.
The PS3 does have some advantages over the PC, and the PC has some advantages over the PS3. The PS3's hardware obviously can't change, and therefore can't upgrade. That said, the developers don't need to make games for 3 different types of video card/monitor/etc. They can sit tight and get comfortable with the technology, allowing them to push it farther and farther.

I disagree that "games are always better on the PC." I prefer FPSs and RTSs on the PC, but I'll play just about everything else on a console.

Didn't they say about a week before they announced Portal 2 that there were only recently considering making games for PS3 in the future, not that they have the dev kits and such and are cranking away? The way most of those PS3 owners reacted makes me think that they think Valve just snaps their fingers and something PS3 compatible will just appear.
