nah, the game is based around combat. Mining produces materials to build ships. Ships get blown up, and new ones have to be built.
Buy a frigate, go into lowsec or nullsec and shoot someone. It's alot of fun.
I know a good area one jump away from the Facepunch HQ, I go there sometimes to kill some damn pirates.
I made a new game: find courier contracts with a low collateral and a fairly large amount of cargo. Accept them, fly over to where the package is and see what you won! I <3 people that put stupidly low collateral and faction items in their contracts.
