Donated $10 based on Wolfire's participation alone, will donate more once they are done I think
I like how Mojang is just jamming out instead of getting stuff done, while Aubrey is finishing a title screen.
Is it just me or does the A in Broadside look like an R?
Is there even any gameplay in the mojang one, also I heard wolfire made a snapshot but they haven't uploaded it to humblebundle yet, anyone got a link?
I like how Mojang is just jamming out instead of getting stuff done, while Aubrey is finishing a title screen.
Gotta have vacation time built in.
David seems to be showing off a test version. Notch looks perplexed, also.
why were there two trains? also I just bought it nevermind it's two seperate models, I thought it was the same model
All I see in the chat is exclamation marks everywhere and "XD XD XD XD" How annoying. Also Wolfire is putting Mojang to shame. Is there a Stream of Oxeye?
I had to leave the chat, it was too painful.

well they are about to push a new update to the key pages [editline]18th February 2012[/editline] It is looking more like a game now.
Wolfire's chat is way better than Mojang's, i'm actually able to have a normal conversation with the people.
I don't deserve it just beacuse I'm poor?
Yep. What do you people think the word deserve means? It means earn. So if you can't pay for it, you don't deserve it. Now, if you are asking for charity, that's a different thing altogether, but no, you didn't earn it. [editline]18th February 2012[/editline] I'm watching Wolfire work in Unity and I am actually amazed at the simplicity of the code so far (I've been using Unity for a while, so I can follow along and understand the API). I always thought that most games had really complex code that I would never understand (I only just now understand what lerp and slerps do to), but his is just (at the moment), if statements, and assignments (I know Unity does simplify a lot of things for developers, since it has an entire physics engine built in that you access via the API).
My "download now" link takes me here: http://assets.mojang.com/mojam/cs.html I didnt know notch was using the amazing "Game Maker"
My "download now" link takes me here: http://assets.mojang.com/mojam/cs.html I didnt know notch was using the amazing "Game Maker"
What's wrong with it? Derek Yu made Spelunky and Desktop Dungeons in Game Maker. The latest version can export to HTML5. Why does the IDE automatically make an outcome good or bad. Wolfire are using Unity. I assume they are both using a visual IDE so they don't have to spend hours writing a basic graphic/physic engine and can instead do what they said - make a game from scratch in 60 hours. Just be thankful they aren't actually using Scratch, or God forbid, Alice.
My "download now" link takes me here: http://assets.mojang.com/mojam/cs.html I didnt know notch was using the amazing "Game Maker"
That game has no relation to an RTS. So far it's just a birds eye shooter. No steampunk. And egypt is only seen through the tileset which needs a lot more work. I hope Mojang doesn't flop this one. I was super excited for an RTS Shooter, like Empires Mod for Half Life 2. That game was great fun!
And again, my wallet isn't ready for this. Paycheck at the end of the month, when this becomes something that you can't buy anymore.
http://assets.mojang.com/mojam/cs.html
I felt compelled to kill all the enemies. All 900+ of them.
I can watch Aubrey do that art shit all day
So you would recommend using Unity?
For game development? Absolutely. I'm not familiar with UDK so I can't really share the similarities/differences. In terms of what is available right now for complete game engine packages, Unity is one of the best. It's also free. The downside of the free version is that you don't get real time shadows and you can't render to texture (meaning you can't do nice looking water reflections, amongst other things). However, for learners, the free version is excellent. I'm working on a small Sci Fi Dungeon Crawl. I've got the movement engine down, working on inventory and stuff, but also learning 3ds max so I can create assets. I don't plan on selling it, so if I ever finish it and release it, it'll be free. But more likely, I'll get a prototype together and convince someone else to make art assets for me. edit: I said above that Derek Yu made Desktop Dungeons in Game Maker. He remade the latest version in Unity.
Creepermau5? [editline]18th February 2012[/editline] Oh wait, they're super serious and actually stream their work. [editline]18th February 2012[/editline] Aubrey is working on some kind of crawler thing and David's Broadside Express looks awesome.
Mojang stream - Guys in chairs. Wolfire stream - Feeds of the screens showing what they're actually doing. Well, I know who I'll be watching.
Oh wow. Aubrey is actually talking to the viewers about the game via chat a little bit. [editline]18th February 2012[/editline] 20 hours to finish. David seems the most done. [editline]18th February 2012[/editline] Or wait...The Wolfire people are together. Where is Oxeye stream?
Sometimes, I feel like the only one that semi-likes Mojang, I mean I love minecraft

It doesn't even matter if the games are that good in the end, it's for charity, no one is expecting anything revolutionairy.
Anyone got a link to the latest build of the broadside express?
Just saw someone mention Latin Geek in the Mojang feed chat. [editline]18th February 2012[/editline]
9:55 Eldudeo: @LatinGeek So you obviously don't know anything about the infrastructural integrity of a charity.
