Playing Brawl online just sucks now. Now it's nothing but taunting and performing tricks on your enemies. Just fucking hit someone already, you fucking asshole.

The only thing worse is when you join and become the 4th member, only to find out they gang you because you're the newcomer.
I was hoping this thread got bumped cause there's news on a new Smash Bros. Now I'm disappointed.

Funny, because I was hoping it got bumped because someone wanted to express their distaste for the current state of online play, and I couldn't be happier.
Maybe you three should all play with each other.
This is going somewhere.

It always sucked. Can't join a game without horrible lag.

I've never once experienced lag in a game.
I get occasional spikes and lag, but not often.

Lucky.
I hope Chibi-Robo is going to be in super smash bros 4.
There were like, 10 characters in SSB, 24 or so characters in SSBM, and then 35 for SSBB.
How many characters do you think we'll be getting in the new ones? I'm hoping for a huger selection, like, say, 46 total.
I'm interested in how both games will play out. Although they're only in pre-development stages, so...
This would basically be the only reason I get a Wiiu/3DS, so it better be good.
I don't know whether I'll follow all the info like I did with Brawl, or keep myself ignorant.
I remember playing Melee and going WOAH WHO THE FUCK IS THIS GUY
The next SSB isn't even being worked on right now. Sakurai, the creator, said he wants to be completely done with Kid Icarus for 3DS before he moves on and focuses on smash bros.
Even then, it might take another 4 years or so to release both the 3DS and Wii U version.

Thanks, I needed to improve my Melee Bowser.
well with kid icruris coming out soon that means only one thing Super Smash Bros. is next!

Arguable on what you consider "character."
35 different CHARACTERS (Zelda/Sheik as one, Pokemon Trainer as one), but 39 different move-sets.
do they really release one SSB per console generation?
because I'd love to play one without, you know, having to buy a completely different console

I'm glad they don't milk it, personally.
It wouldn't be milking if Sakurai made more than one game in one console generation, but it's just better to do it this way to savor the awesome.

I'm living on a prayer and hoping they do what happened to Twilight Princess. Release it for WiiU, then re-release for Wii later.

There isn't a need to release more than one, other than yours.

Technically, the Wii version is a port of the Gamecube version.
I basically bought the Gamecube and the Wii only for SSB though, and I don't feel like buying the WiiU
I'm guessing next SSB will have Krystal in it regardless and that DK villains name...i wouldn't mind that General Scales dude

You're really missing out. There was tons of games on both systems worth playing (and I predict the same for the WiiU)

Wouldn't be surprising to see Krystal and King K. Rool.
I would like to see the likes of Waluigi and Pokemon representation for each Generation, though.

Not that I ONLY played SSB on them, but they were the main reason why I bought the consoles.
I still have my Wii here (with around 2000 hours played of SSBB), but I sold my Gamecube

so, can't they put Megaman in the new game?
Im hoping Sakurai starts up a new blog for the next Smash Bros, and confirms whether or not it really is called Super Smash Bros Universe for the Wii U version. It would just make the most sense considering he did say he would be adding more than just more characters and stages, but ways to implement a custom character, which will probably be your Mii.
So Facepunch, what is your roster predictions for SSB4?
