This thread has become a war on pokemon, WTF happened
are you even reading the thread
He's right. They're more detailed and complex, is about it. If only I can find that picture that swaps Generation 1 with Generation 5, and uses complaints about Gen. 5 against Gen. 1 (IT'S JUST A DUCK) [editline]27th January 2012[/editline]
Hi, I'm the ice-cream in a cup pokemon. My name is Vanillite. Hi, I'm the ice-cream in a cone pokemon. My name is Vanillish. Hi, I'm the ice-cream in a double-cone pokemon. My name is Vanilluxe. And they could've redeemed that concept with an alternate third evolution: trade the second one whilst it's holding a metal coat. Makes the ice-cream with razor blades in pokemon, called "Vanillouch".
Voltorb -> Electrode They're balls Grimer -> Muk They're... well, grime and muck. Psyduck A PSYCHIC DUCK, I GET IT
Changing the topic, Ganondorf tier is best tier.

i never realized how serious the smash bros thread could get jeez you guys
Still think Travis Touchdown needs to be in the next SSB.
Wasn't there a comic that showed the hypocrisy behind most of the anti-newgen arguments? Like, one of them is calling Rayquaza or something an overdesigned piece of shit, then in the next panel it shows Gyarados being accused of the same thing?
guess what, you're not reading the thread either [editline]28th January 2012[/editline]
That's exactly what we're talking about. They're drawn more detailed. And stop acting smug. It's annoying. [editline]27th January 2012[/editline]
Changing the topic, Ganondorf tier is best tier.
Pfft, Lucas wins.
Changing the topic, Ganondorf tier is best tier.
but he's so slow compared to captain falcon [editline]28th January 2012[/editline]
And stop acting smug. It's annoying.
you're doing the same
but he's so slow compared to captain falcon
He makes up in power.
but my brain is too slow to actually hit people with him
Am I the only one who prefers playing melee to brawl because despite all the neat new characters and extra features, brawl's physics and flow are just too damn sluggish and awkward? Not to say that Brawl isn't fun every once in a while either but I hope the next game has Melee physics.
Pretty sure this was done intentionally to reduce the number of exploits and make mid-air combat easier (which was probably needed because of all the damn flying characters). Personally I think the importance of the physics is really underplayed, if something doesn't work with the physics, then it just plain won't work, regardless of what it's meant to appeal to. And that was a real problem in SSBB. Too much was added for the sake of saying "hey everybody, look whose here!" rather than being there for the player to take advantage of. Mind you this doesn't specifically apply to characters
I always liked the slow guys because it just felt so satisfying to hit everyone as bowser or ganondorf or even snake, I'd just run and charge up attacks and have everyone just run into my blows. I liked timing my attacks more than the fast paced characters that just overwhelmed me.

Any numbskull could press the A button while mashing on the directional stick, but it takes a bit of strategy to time your slow-ass self to lead enemies into your fist.
Sorry if late, but a small leak had come out last year related to SSB4; http://supersmashbros.ign.com/articles/news/8762/More-Super-Smash-Bros-4-Leaks
Is there an actual SSB competitive scene or is it just a bunch of tryhards trying to be cool? I always thought SSB was a fun casual multiplayer game. Never knew people cared about balance, tier lists and special maneuvers. That and the infamous "NO ITEMS, FOX ONLY, FINAL DESTINATION"
He makes up in power.
Nothing beats a well placed Falcon punch
I can't play sonic it's just too boring
Nothing beats a well placed Falcon punch
Is Ganondorf's punch slower then Captain Falcon's punch?
Yes but it does more damage
Is Ganondorf's punch slower then Captain Falcon's punch?
Yes, and they're both completely useless against anyone with over 2 brain cells. It's pretty much just an invitation to get chaingrabbed into oblivion by anyone playing Falco.
with some skill and luck, you can land their punches not like it's impossible
It does more damage, but isn't the damage from the Falcon Punch already enough?

That and the infamous "NO ITEMS, FOX ONLY, FINAL DESTINATION"
The whole deal with the competitive scene is that there are people who can't get it through their head that games with fighting are not automatically part of the fighting game genre. Fighting games typically avoid having variables that the players can't control so that the players alone determine the outcome of the match. Smash Bros. doesn't follow that design, so there's inconsistencies in stages, items, characters, etc. The competitive scene has picked the games apart and made note of every little thing, thus allowing them to determine a playstyle that best fits the standard fighting game model: a flat stage with no items, top-tier characters and heavy use of gameplay exploits.

They only banned the moving stages, which are really crap anyway imo.
Fun Fact: in Japanese tournaments, all stages are banned in the original Super Smash Bros. except for Dream Land.
Super Smash Bros is only fun with items. Nothing funnier then throwing a Bomb-Omb at someone.
Nothing funnier then throwing a Bomb-Omb at someone.
Except throwing Birdo's eggs at someone.
