How is Falco a clone? He is a bit like Fox, but even then he has a completely different play style, especially when he's being played competitively.
Same attacks, different stats. He's bland as fuck. He moves and attacks the exact same way as fox, but his attacks have different stats. [editline]29th January 2012[/editline] Now I can accept Falco, but with the addition of Wolf we now have 3 fucking clones of the same character... THAT seriously pisses me off. Clone characters are not very fun. They introduce little to the game aside from a cool-looking alternative character skins.
Actually, I much prefer Toon Link to Link. Link way too weak for his slow speed. While Toon Link is a bit weaker, his agility and speed make up for it.
heresy, Link is awesome
Play a Wii game, complain about gimmicks. You guys knew what you were getting into.
Play a Wii game, complain about gimmicks. You guys knew what you were getting into.
Clones aren't gimmicks. Complete opposite of that.
They better not break Game and Watch for being such a good counter. I love it when my opponent doesn't know what Oil Panic does, especially against a Samus.
IMO, "Toon" versions should be available for all characters.
I only found out what it did after ~1000 hours of playing [editline]30th January 2012[/editline]
IMO, "Toon" versions should be available for all characters.
toon link is there only because that's how he was in The Wind Waker
IMO, "Toon" versions should be available for all characters.
Toon Game and Watch, now with 100% less details!
But I want my Super Paper Mario. D:
inb4 New Character "Mii"
inb4 New Character "Mii"
that would be pretty fun but way too gimmicky for my taste
that would be pretty fun but way too gimmicky for my taste
Four people online fighting as dick Miis
Four people online fighting as dick Miis
Now I can finally realize my fantasy of Falcon Punching Hitler!
You know what would be awesome ? Classic Sonic and Modern Sonic, based on the ones of Sonic Generations. Similar to Toon Link and Link, they would play pretty much the same, but with enough differences to make both enjoyable.
Same attacks, different stats. He's bland as fuck. (Just so you know, Falco plays a lot better than Fox)

I really don't see how they couldn't create new movesets in Brawl for the clone characters either. Seriously, even their final smashes are the same most of the time. Also, he has that little arial down A where he spin kicks with his feet, there was no easier spike to KO opponents with for me.

(Just so you know, Falco plays a lot better than Fox)
Not very differently though. He's what Ganondorf is to Captain Falcon. A good clone, but not a unique character. [editline]31st January 2012[/editline] I would be alright if some clones were kept but were changed into being alternative costumes with alternative stats. However I do not like that characters without unique move-sets gets their own character slot, it feels lazy and boring. Characters like Toon Link, Falco, Wolf, and Lucas would be much better as alternative costumes with stat changes, rather than occupying a whole character slot without offering a unique play-style. Luigi and Ganondorf should be given more unique move-sets. This way, people could also have Mewtwo back without him occupying a new character slot.
I always use Marth, he's really easy to use. Though I hope in the next game Mario gets his old tornado move back instead of the damned water gun thing. That was annoying to use.
I really hated the Fludd attack. Not only because it felt insanely useless, but also because I really liked Super Mario Sunshine. If they're going to keep it... they should make it work more like it actually worked in Super Mario Sunshine... as in, hold down the button to shoot and aim the stream (and eventually run out of water).

I mean the Mario Tornado isn't a reference to anything but nobody complained about it because of that.
If they don't improve Bowser drastically, he's just gonna be dead roster weight again.
If they don't improve Bowser drastically, he's just gonna be dead roster weight again.
Bowser isn't terrible, he just needs to be more of a heavy niche role with more power/defense, or to balance him out with speed and range.
Bowser isn't terrible, he just needs to be more of a heavy niche role with more power/defense, or to balance him out with speed and range.
I say defense, as opposed to Ganondorf being a powerhouse.
IMO, I think Conker would be a pretty sick character, but I think there's zero to NO chance of hime making it in.
I would like to see Lanky Kong as a new character http://www.giantbomb.com/lanky-kong/94-3309/ A reckon he could be pretty interesting
I think they should add unlockable costumes for each character. Like Mr.L for Luigi, Waddle Dee for Kirby, Dr. Mario for Mario. That way you can have different appearances for these characters without having to add clones.

Add voice changes, and we could even have Sonic -> Shadow
People keep suggesting Funky Kong... however from his appearances I have absolutely no idea what possible playstyle he should have. In almost every game Funky has been in, he has been in charge of rentals. In the other games, he has been driving vehicles. Basically, nobody has ever seen him actually move around and nobody has seen him fight. Lanky however, was one of the playable characters in Donkey Kong 64, and he had many unique abilities of his own. So he'd be much easier to base a new character on as he already has a lot of examples of how he fights, moves, and what special abilities he has. Another possible alternative would be Dixie, but aside from her hair she's not very unique from Diddy.
