How can you not believe in it? Some characters ARE undeniably better than others. It's the truth. As long as two characters are not completely the same one will be better to some degree.
You missed the part where he doesn't play to win. Besides, the SSBB tier list is pointless in casual play. At a casual level, Ike is amazingly overpowered.

Thank you for summing that up.
Dr. Mario was the shit too bad he was left out :c

That's no reason not to believe in tiers. I'm a pretty casual player myself.

Someone who agrees!
He should be back in the next game, or maybe a an unlockable costume for Mario.

If he comes back IMO he shouldn't be a Mario clone.
Well $50 bucks says that they'll release the next ssb on the wii u or some other shitty console no one will want to buy.

IIRC they are selling it on wii u. With no CG controller compatability :frown:

It will be on the Wii U and 3DS, apparently.
You win $100!
Damn it, why can't they start making normal consoles again, just imagine how many people would be lining up to buy their new console, had they named it "gamecube 2".

At least it's HD.

The GameCube wasn't as cherished as the N64 was, so I don't know about that.
I think the GameCube was incredibly underrated, though, myself.
New SSBB will be on the Wii U? What the hell.. Nobody will even buy that shit, why bother putting it there? Nintendo is slowly going down hill..
New SSBB will be on the Wii U? What the hell.. Nobody will even buy that shit, why bother putting it there? Nintendo is slowly going down hill..
Where else are they going to put it besides maybe the 3DS?
:downs:
WiiU is looking pretty slick to be honest
I'll probably get one
That's no reason not to believe in tiers. I'm a pretty casual player myself.
I'm not saying I don't believe in them or anything like that. It's just that the tier list only applies when you're playing at a higher level... It has a purpose, it's just that casual and competitive Smash Bros. are far too different for the comp tier list to hold any value in casual play. Most casual Snakes aren't going to be DACUSing across the stage and shield dropping nades, and those are a big part of his competitive game. Without those techs, his position on the list would probably drop. Plus you have things like bullshit items and stages like Mario Bros. that unbalance the game, causing the tier list to mean absolutely nothing in casual play because it generally comes down to who gets to the items first.
Aside from that, the tier list is not an absolute 'this character is better than another' list. It's more of a list of who has the better tools, which mean nothing if the player using them is a complete idiot. A scrub can pick up MK and spam Dsmash and nado all day and he might win against another scrub but a competitive Ganon will come along and wipe the floor with him because he had no clue how to use MK properly. The tier list would mean alot more if everyone played their characters to 100% of their potential, but they don't.

But it WILL be on the 3DS, in addition to the Wii U.
Why put any fighting game on the 3DS? It'll turn out bad.
It's bad enough they put Luigi's Mansion 2 on the 3DS
dammit they better make a WiiU version

The other guy said he didn't believe in them.
And I said last page the tier list applies a lot less at lower levels of play.

Yeah I need to stop making posts while tired.
He's right to not believe in the list anyway, because it literally means nothing at a lower level. Too many variables change and more are added.

Well he doesn't have to know it or anything but there's no reason he shouldn't believe in it. The people who made it are more credible than pretty much anyone else.
Putting the Smash Bros game on a portable will not be half as good as console version, I'll just wait a long time for the WiiU price drop (Once the game and console come out) until I get it.
If he comes back IMO he shouldn't be a Mario clone.
Well he IS Mario in general, but I agree. Let's hope he has a few original moves at least.

Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition says Hi.
And how would it turn out bad? Hell, the 3DS is more fit for fighting games than the X-Box 360.

How? Console controllers have more buttons and tend to feel better on the hands.

I don't know. Super Street Fighter IV 3D wasn't too bad. And that was just a port. I can guess that they'll put some dedication into the 3DS version of the new Smash Bros.

D-Pad
D-Pad
I don't mean to butt in, but don't console controllers have D-pads too?
Putting tiers in SSB is stupid since most characters play the same.
