the only thing I did is making a farm, some rooms for later workshops and now i'm busy with a stockpile room, AND THESE GUYS ALREADY START POURING IN.
Barracks needed :v:

Luckily, these are a bit useful, a woodcutter, fish dissector (wich I turned into my fishing guy), metalsmither or something and a miller. Right now some of them just are like the rest, dumping stuff.
Mother of god 23 migrants :byodood:
Tough, they arrive in right combinations, some are fish related and the other part hunting, trapping and so forth. And some wich will be army men.
[editline]30th January 2011[/editline]
Naming all of them is horrible.

Yeah I think either the second or third wave is a big one, going 15+ most of the time.
After I learned of that, I always made sure to have a million billion bedrooms ready.
Also I used to name my dwarves, but these days I only name the ones that do something awesome, like kill a beast with bare hands or something.

my carpenters didn't work fast enough :saddowns:
only 1/4th of all my dwarves has a bedroom, I think even less....
WHAT THE HELL.
I just destroyed an entire camp of goblins, and thought I finished the quest, when all of a sudden, some guy announces his self-proclaimed strength and how I will meet an untimely demise. After I exit that window, an arrow or bolt pierced my head and decimated me in one fell shot.
How do I make it so people don't pass out from one broken bone?
So in Adventurer mode, if you die, can you Finish Game and then see your exploits in Legends?
So in Adventurer mode, if you die, can you Finish Game and then see your exploits in Legends?
Yep.
Also, I just killed some guy by throwing two pieces of loomy sand at someone. The first bruised something, and the other impaled his head and destroyed his brain.
I pierced someone's eyelid with my battlehammer what is going on?
I pierced someone's eyelid with my battlehammer what is going on?
I don't remember eyelids being body parts in this game... Regardless, what finishing moves do you guys carry out in adventure mode?
When someone is on the ground dying, and I have full range of any body part, I stab their head with my sword. Sometimes, if I'm feeling particularally sadistic, I chop off their limbs, one by one.
Stab them in the guts until they bleed out.
Or just stab them in the upper body and wait until I sever an artery or two, then I just continue looting and wait for them to bleed to death.
If they injured me or it was a difficult battle, I cut off a leg and beat them with it.

True accuracy. Imagine if someone threatened you with a warhammer, you laugh "Hah! What are you going to do with that?" And they cut off all your eyelashes with it :v:
So I got around to learning the basics of DF with the intention of spending about 30 minutes on it. 5 hours later I knew my life was doomed forever, bloody good game though.

That's usually how it goes.
And once it happened for me, I started wondering why everyone doesn't play DF.

"I play Dwarf Fortress. Sometimes I wish I was a meth addict instead."
Speaking of that:

Thanks, but a bit too late.
After I chopped this body up, I was destroyed and obliterated by a man with a whip.
Also, this adventure. I'm going to put all my points into strength and punching/striking. PUNCH RAMPAGE
I slaughtered a mother dog and all of her puppies followed her to butchery.
I had the puppies slaughtered too.

My name was Guras Murkmurder of Murdering, by the way, and he had a vow never to use weapons other than his fists and feet. Sadly, he died when he broke that pledge and stabbed someone with an arrow he pulled from his leg.

True, some would consider grabbing an enemies' buddy's head and bashing their head with the fallen teammate's head cruel. I call it creativity.

My guy is officially a badass. He holds a warhammer in his left hand, shield in his right, as well as silver bolts in each hand as well.
What should I give to my military? Short swords or spears (iron, since I only have copper and iron)
What should I give to my military? Short swords or spears (iron, since I only have copper and iron)
Both.
Why do my 2 military dwarfs not train? I disabled hauling, and turned all months on their schedule to training, and set them to train in the barracks. Help?
And how would I have to order them to a spot? the system still confuses me.
[editline]31st January 2011[/editline]
And what does a hospital need again? and how do I make traction benches.
[editline]31st January 2011[/editline]
Oh, they do train, but alone :saddowns:

Do you have a military chief/captain noble appointed?
I don't remember anything about the military since my last fortresses have been pulverized before I get to that part :v:
s+a+m on a location you want causes them to move there, s+a+k makes them kill something you choose with the reticule.
Also the best way to train is to create a barracks and then make a danger room, but there's a lot of stuff involved in that which should be in a How To guide.
New interesting devlog
We haven't forgotten you. To that end, we have concocted a new short-term schedule for a series of (relatively) quick releases leading up to the completion of the caravan arc which can be seen on the new dev page. Bug fixes are a priority and will be the main focus between releases. Your sponsored animals will be a part of the process, the honey bee being a major feature of the upcoming version with more to come in each release.
