Gigantic fucking superbattle up this demon tower, leading a small army of heavily armored soldiers who all get steadily killed off.
At the highest floor, you face off against the godlike evil sorcerer who caused all the trouble that's been happening. He raises his staff with a mighty yell, and...
"The spinning vomit hits Urist Mcevilsorceror in the head, jamming the skull through the brain!"
Your dwarves will get to the second level and starve to death :<
Ending the ghost page.
Fucking elven made ghost pages, I'mma slaughter their next caravan with my modded war kittens for this.

Idiot. You don't end ghost pages by doing THAT. You bury them or make a stone slab.
My weaponsmith just had a fey mood and produced a black opal encrusted steel mace.
Middle of an ambush and the would-be leader of their group has a freaking heart attack.

Why did you have a 150 year old dwarf fighting.
Why did you have a 150 year old dwarf fighting.
Because when they are old they know how to do things.
Huge new devlog
I set up the raw structure for the necromancer stuff. It works the same way as the dead being raised in evil regions, except now the interaction type is a "secret" instead of a regional power, and this secret can be learned in various ways. The general idea is that by learning certain secrets, a historical figure in world gen gains various traits -- in the example it is immortality and the ability to animate the dead (via a syndrome which negates aging and imparts the ability to perform an "interaction"). The secrets are at first imparted by gods or demons or megabeasts with the proper sphere alignment (death in this case), and then the secrets can be passed down in writing (if permitted by their tags), probably in the form of an artifact stone tablet/slab or something until we have books, so that direct supernatural intervention isn't always required, especially in longer history worlds. Secrets can also be experimentally researched by world gen people if their tags permit. The vanilla secrets will all be generated during world gen, but I'm also including some examples for people to look at for raw editing. I don't want to post those now because the format is still fluid.
There's no reason why a historical figure that gains immortality and the power to animate the dead should immediately become an antisocial evil tower-living guy, but we'll have to wing that part until we get to the personality rewrite in Release 6. However we do that, they should be able to harvest the bodies that it saves everywhere now, especially in places like battlefields where the dead are going to be more accessible, although it might be fun to do a kobold-style site infiltration in world gen to raise some bodies down in the catacombs to attack a city from within or something. We'll do whatever few things we have time for, and then we'll move on to the next night creature.
Oh my god I want that so bad
Most advanced Zombie simulator ever. Could almost make a new game mode where you are the immortal zombie making guy.
Shit. Experimentation? Dealings with demonic creatures? Fluffy wamblers that come across a stone slab and become immortal death dealers?
Count me in
Huge new devlog
I hope that means you could learn necromancy.
it'd make adventure mode great fun.
One step away from Liches.

That's what she said. :smug:
I hope dwarves will be able to make artifacts with secrets engraved on them sometimes. Maybe as a result of a fell or secretive mood only?

Personally I think "secret" (or magical) artifacts should only be produced by possessed moods. It would sort of make sense (divine/supernatural intervention possibly being infused into the item itself) and would give possessed moods (arguably the least favorite of the moods) a much needed boost.
Be sure to make pictures, or even record it!
I have a problem, a glassmaker has a mood, but there are problems:
1: there's no sand around
2: I made no glass yet.
Should I block him up with walls and starve to death?
help please :saddowns:, I only want to kill him if there's really no way out of this. He hasn't got that much friends (2 deity's and some passing aquintances or something)

If there's no sand on the map the only way to get glass is to trade for it.

I want more goddamn macabre moods, they shouldn't be only produced by unhappy thoughts, but rather lots of death and destruction
If there's no sand on the map the only way to get glass is to trade for it.
Can't wait for that, a dwarven one just passed by before the glassmaker got moody. Well, time to set up burial chambers with coffins.
I had a cult of dwarves commit mass suicide in an empty pond used for farm irrigation.
Guys, a diplomat offered me to promote a baron and make my fortress the capital. I chose a baron but he somehow left unhappy and now I don't get any dwarvern caravans anymore and still don't have a baron.
Is there someway to fix this?
Also I love it when it says "Snatcher! Protect the children" and I check the source of the problem and it turns out the thief got stuck in one of my cage traps :v:

Once you become the capital you no longer get caravans.

I don't think I became the capital because the diplomat left unhappy and I'm still getting human caravans.
Also an ambush spawned beside a new dwarf caravan thats coming to my fortress fml

Of course this is going to result in two things.
First we are going to end up with undead kittens.
Then Undead daemons.
With the proper undead coming up I guess it'll be the end of simply lobbing prisoners/kittens into pits. Gotta start using atom smashers on kittens and prisoners; a waste of gory descriptions as they bleed out imo.
