I've been waiting for months to get back into this. waiting for .19.
Now you can take rock nuts, for instance, mill them into a nut paste, then put them in a screw press to get oil (into a jug) and a press cake. Both of these can be cooked and the oil can also be made into soap. The press cake shouldn't be as yummy, probably, or maybe it should be restricted as animal feed, but currently it is just food. Jugs are currently anything but clay pretty much, and clay is the next step.
FUCK WALL HIM IN
Is that a bug? I got one of those, and he didn't want rocks, rock blocks or anything else (i had at the time, at least).
Rock bars is the same thing as metal bars, it's a description bug.
What are the current notable bugs? I haven't played in a while.
Orkel, your avatar is quite disturbing.
Also, someone give me an idea for a new creature to make.
A large insectoid with four legs that terminate in four "toes" that radiate from the foot's base, two pairs of arms (with one pair terminating in a scythe with a damage modifier equal to bronze, and the other pair having four "fingers") and a mouth with four mandibles, no antennae, and six eyes.
It should be trainable, and it's carapace should be as strong as steel, however it's joints are exposed and thus the best way to kill one if you lack steel/adamantine is to hope they lop off a limb.
Essentially, it fills the gap between tough monsters such as Trolls, and semi-megabeasts/megabeasts such as Ettin or Dragons.
Does anyone play the Kobold Camp mod?
Started a new fort, grand entrance hall carved out. Run out of food? Need a bed? Fuck off I need to smooth these walls!
I would play this if it had graphics

In fact, i will try it
[editline]12th January 2011[/editline]
is it birds eye view or side view?
Fuck.
I just found a fortress, recruited most of the dwarves in there, travelled elsewhere and slept as it became night, I was awoken in the night by a fucking warlord and loads of enemy dwarves and got stabbed in the head with a spear before I could even stand up.

You sure? It works for me:

Oh, nevermind, you meant the one in the OP, my mistake.
Well, just embarked in a Mirthful forest with a terrifying mountain range.
Looks like you're stuck in the middle of a war between unicorns and the undead.
That's a strange one. I got a faux bronze colossus, it was just a humanoid titan made of bronze. There is less of a fort there now, I'll be honest.
What do you do when you run out of water in the winter? They always die. Stupid dwarfs...

Dig deeper, find a pool in the underground.

How do I prevent it from flooding the mine shaft?
How do I prevent it from flooding the mine shaft?
It's not going to. The pools are in caverns, and when you hit a cavern it'll pause the game and give you a message. And even if you hit the pool directly, it's not going to flow magically upwards.
When you can take squads to the travel screen and "interact" with other fortresses, i'll be p satisfied with where it's at.

I'll only be satisfied when an adventurer could perform every action a Dwarf in Fortress mode can do :colbert:
Including failing to treat a dwarf's terminal gushingwoundtis because he's too busy carrying refuse to the pile?
How do I build a roof? Sorry for the question overload, haven't played in a bit.
A floor on the z-level above.
Must build stairs on both z-levels so you can access it.
Okay okay I promise myself this time to get back into Dwarf Fortress I miss it too much.
How do I prevent it from flooding the mine shaft?
You're digging into rivers, dig Z-levels up, and into the underground river to find the top of the stream.
There might be summer floods
