Hiding stone while knowing it's there would bother me so much. [editline]25th March 2011[/editline] Fuck
A rodent man stepped in a trap and got his stomach opened thanks to an adamantine serrated disk slicing it open, and his guts popped out. He then ran away, only to return a few seconds after, step on the same trap again, and the serrated disk severed his exposed guts.

I just wanted to know, are there any other games with the same level of detail when it comes to the bodies?
I just wanted to know, are there any other games with the same level of detail when it comes to the bodies?
Doubt it.
I have a Batman civilization nearby, are they going to fuck me up?
I have a Batman civilization nearby, are they going to fuck me up?
They are vengeance. They are the night.
I just wanted to know, are there any other games with the same level of detail when it comes to the bodies?
Well, other roguelikes, presumably. Even so, I'd say DF is still one of the most detailed ones.
Annoying bug in .22 Food is often put in stockpiles without a barrel, causing it to go bad fast. And there's something else, somehow they don't reuse the stockpile slots after a barrel's contents has been consumed by a dwarf.

The food stockpile can be removed and re-added to reset the cycle, as a workaround. Takes a little while for the stuff to get barreled up but it stays for some time before it has to be done again. [editline]25th March 2011[/editline] a rodent man just killed a baby :c

[editline]25th March 2011[/editline] a rodent man just killed a baby :c
Will do, really can't afford to lose any food now with the population having boomed very rapidly from 26 to 87 dwarfs (I'm building plump helmet farms like mad but I have to get the production going before I have a steady flow of food). Yeah these fucking rodents and Goblins have no honour at all, a Goblin snatcher just stabbed a baby in the arm before snatching it. Luckily my militia caught up and pretty much tore him apart (they cut and tore off like 4 pieces before killing him). [editline]25th March 2011[/editline]
They are vengeance. They are the night.
I have a artifact sceptre that has "Parent" in the name (can't remember the full name, but I remember the part that matters), if they try anything I'll use it to smite them. Also:
Surprisingly, the Iron Man does not deplete your fortress booze supplies. On rare occasions humans who exhibit strange moods may sometimes turn into one of these. However, dwarves have been unable to duplicate this process, even given the finest workshops and crafting materials, leading most dwarven scholars to declare it impossible for a human to do so in a cave, with a box of scraps

I have a Batman civilization nearby, are they going to fuck me up?
I never understood how they multiplied as their parents are always dead?
Nooo! Not the plump helmet man!
So, I've gotten one of my first fortresses started(Stable food supply etc.) But I got no clue what to do now, anyone have an idea?
So, I've gotten one of my first fortresses started(Stable food supply etc.) But I got no clue what to do now, anyone have an idea?
Dig for minerals, make crafts or whatever expensive items you want, trade them for traders, get migrants, start a military, etc. Once your fort is at its peak with max dwarves and great military, start a megaproject. Like build a pyramid, or a huge maze, a doomsday device, giant skyscraper or something else. [editline]25th March 2011[/editline] According to Toady, there's a small hotfix release coming up regarding the nasty quirks that appared in .22 "Soonish"
Guys why is my butcher saying it can't butcher? There is a fucking horse skeleton that needs some chop choppin at the butcher. And it's right next to it.
Guys why is my butcher saying it can't butcher? There is a fucking horse skeleton that needs some chop choppin at the butcher. And it's right next to it.
Needs to be an unrotten item. [editline]25th March 2011[/editline] aka. fresh
Needs to be an unrotten item. [editline]25th March 2011[/editline] aka. fresh
Even fresh bodies won't get butchered for the same reason. And the wiki says he will butcher skeletons.
Even fresh bodies won't get butchered for the same reason. And the wiki says he will butcher skeletons.
Try setting up a refuse stockpile, maybe he'll pick it up from there. If the corpse is outside, you must enable "Gather refuse from outside".

Ugh, I've been wanting to get into this game for a while now but I just can't understand anything. Seems like a cool game, too.
Well, a minotaur is busy running around killing everything in my fort. I had 70-something dwarves when he showed up, and last I checked, I had 10. Now it's just a matter of time. Has the military been fixed so that skills actually take less than 30 years to go up one unit? I haven't been bothering to make a military due to this problem. Or is there some way I can edit the game's files so that military training happens faster?
Can anyone tell me why my non cat/dog animals keep starving to death? Do I have to feed them or something?
Can anyone tell me why my non cat/dog animals keep starving to death? Do I have to feed them or something?
Livestock needs a pasture where they can graze grass or cave moss that appears on dug out soil. New feature. http://df.magmawiki.com/index.php/DF2010:Pasture
Can anyone tell me why my non cat/dog animals keep starving to death? Do I have to feed them or something?
You have to put them in a pasture with grass in it. A pasture is a zone [i] and after you activate the area, you hit [N] to assign all the grazing animals to that zone. If they run out of grass, they'll start starving again, so if you have many animals or large animals, you'll have to either make multiple pastures or keep moving them to new spots.
Is there any way to set a still to not stop producing drinks? I hate having to go to every one of my stills and set it all, and somebody has to die of thirst before I remember to do that.

Fuck guys, a metalsmith just got a fay mood and now he needs bodyparts! So, kill the elven caravan or kill a useless dwarf?
